Arrowhead Stadium To Undergo Further Renovations

The Kansas City Chiefs announce further offseason renovations to Arrowhead Stadium.

The Kansas City Chiefs recently announced via Twitter and their website that Arrowhead Stadium would be undergoing further renovations this offseason following last year’s upper bowl getting new seats and one of the scoreboards getting updated.

This round of updates will include replacing the orange seats in the lower bowl with red ones (identical to those installed last year), updating the second endzone scoreboard with a high resolution screen, and enclosing some field suites on the main concourse. However, more exciting to me is that both the Chiefs locker room and Sports Lab will also be receiving updates.

Elsewhere, the Chiefs’ locker room will receive a major facelift in the coming months. Among the scheduled upgrades are brand-new lockers, a ceiling logo in the center of the room, a Gatorade bar, accent lighting and new carpeting in order to provide the players with the best area possible as they prepare for kickoff. The Athletic Training area will also be re-done as part of the project.

Finally, the Sports Lab, which hosted more than 20,000 students on educational field trips in 2019 and has welcomed 165,000 students through its doors since 2010, will be renovated later this offseason in partnership with GEHA. Those plans aren’t quite finalized just yet, but the final product will only enhance what the Sports Lab can provide to our youngest fans.

Having toured Arrowhead Stadium, the team’s locker room was…outdated. It will be nice to see the players being interviewed in a more appropriate setting for the AFC Champions and the Sports Lab is a great experience for all the community’s youth that has been through it.

As for the seats, the Chiefs are coming for your wallets once again. If you’d like to purchase them, they will be available online at arrowheadseatsale.com. For the small price of $509 you too can own a pair of Arrowhead history. Or for the more conscientious shopper, you can get a single seat for $397.

Hopefully Full-Time Yellow Endzones Are Included

Didn’t really notice the colour of the seat the one time I was there, wasn’t using it much.

As long as they don’t change the name and/or add a sponsor to it, and just leave it “Arrowhead Stadium,” fine by me!

Only downside is that you cant make noise by pounding on the new seats. They are way too flimsy. Good thing we got the record with the old ones!
