I’m an AI junkie.
Still have family who lives & works in Silicon Valley (one of them is a Sr Coding Engineer for Call of Duty)

better to keep ahead of information & progress on my own — instead of relying of media, etc. etc. – when it’s too late

Yeah, the nano-tech angle is kind of worn out. Entertaining, but not a great movie by any means.

Yeah, with the rest of the family in the house the distractions would be commonplace, but as for the busywork while feeling completely unproductive getting to you, I feel ya. That shit hits me hard, and becoming disabled installed it as a low-level default feeling that never really goes away.

Working here at AG pro bono has provided me ways to feel productive again, even if it’s more of a support than creative role. It’s still important work, and I’ve been teaching and advising the writers who are interested in how to improve their writing style. Seeing that progress has been very satisfying, but unfortunately the process is very slow.

If the going gets too tough I suppose you could daydream about ways that you could subvert the system you’re in enough to get some things done. Within all the meaningful rules and regs, of course, neither of us likes putting out poor product by cutting corners. At least, I believe you think that way from how you’re talkin’. Best of luck, either way.

Bloodshot, I rented off Dish. It was a fun superhero (anti-hero, technically?) film with some cool special effects. Jadotville is based on a true story. I thought it was really well written for something based on such a narrow timeline. It was well worth the 1.5 hours, or so.

If you own non-standard plates in KS, best read up about the guy who got screwed because his antique car plate has the same number as a commercial truck, and he’s been getting billed for crap on the east coast because of it.

I live 2 miles from my job, so those travel savings aren’t there. I also have to compete with all three kids home from school and my wife now on summer break from teaching. My big issue is the remote work is turning into busy work, when there are things I would be able to do, and feel productive, if I were on site.

Well, technically speaking Manson did a cover of an ’80s cover of a ’60s song, but I thought he did it well – and there’s something to be said about his music video for it, as well.

Discussing his cover of Sweet Dreams, however would be off-topic and likely unproductive, all things considered. No point in bringing my thoughts on that into discussion of good covers. 😉

You have a point, but c’mon, “romantic thrillers” isn’t a genre I’ve ever heard of. I can’t speak for CI, but The Island certainly qualifies with the description.

And Dan’s right, it’s a damn good movie and McGregor nails it and ScarJo delivers another of her ordinary great performances, too.
