That was more exciting than I thought it’d be.
The Browns got out to a quick 15-3 lead thanks to a couple 4th down conversion and a 2 point conversion, but Mahomes being Mahomes didn’t let the defense struggling stop him from dominating the game, keeping the Chiefs in it despite the Browns doing anything they wanted in the 1st half.
In the 3rd quarter the offense drove down the field slowly for the touchdown, then the defense finally showed some life by forcing a fumble which lead to a field goal after a sack and a penalty halted the ensuing drive.
But fumbles are hard to duplicate, as Cleveland started the 4th by going down the field with little resistance yet again, which pissed Mahomes off enough for him to throw a spectacular 75 yard touchdown to Tyreek Hill.
Apparently inspired by the Mahomes magic the defense finally showed up and forced a 3-and-out, and the special teams got in on it by tackling the punter, setting up an easy touchdown for Mahomes to take the lead.
The defense continued their hot streak with another 3-and-out (where was this defense in the first 3 quarters?!), but the offense got conservative and punted the ball right back. The defense proved to be up to the task, picking off Mayfield and ending the game.
In short, Mahomes is the MVP.
