Watched my daughter cross the stage this afternoon, now she has the parchment to hang on her wall which recognizes her hard work and perseverance. Whether it’s Thunder Bay, Ontario, or Austin, Texas: a parent’s pride in a child’s accomplishment through hard work and perseverance is an unmatched feeling! RIP experienced same a few weeks ago. Y’all going through same know what I’m talking about. (And BRaG: ya, you’re still further north than us here on the northwest shore of Lake Superior.)

From the morning huddle and local news here in KC. I was just in my incipient stages of Chiefs fandom. The first real spark of the teams possible greatness in my memorable time, Joe Delaney had just, in my eyes as a kid, destroyed the NFL. I was so excited for his next season and when the news came of his death, sacrificing himself knowing he could not swim, to attempt to save some children, it was crushing to me. I felt both robbed of and in more awe of a man’s sacrifice that I had never met but so admired. The what ifs of Joe’s life still are things I still think about today.
Also Gracie could do a swimsuit tribute in his memory. Couldn’t hurt
That last’s actually a fairly good idea. Make it a calendar and donate the profits to a suitable charity in his name. I’ve heard worse ideas.
