Sweet Sixteen
2 repliesI decided to play March Madness with the Chiefs players based on their approximate value as determined by the franchise encyclopedia. I took the top 128 players and placed them in a bracket and advanced the better player. Here are the sweet sixteen.

# 3 Len Dawson vs # 19 Tim Grunhard

# 6 Derrick Thomas vs # 54 Tyreek Hill
DT knocked out Eric Fisher as he would have in real life
The Cheetah ran past Henry Marshall

# 7 Buck Buchanon vs # 10 Emmitt Thomas
The only matchup with no upsets – Buchanon tops Chris Jones
Thomas took out Elvis Grbac and Eric Berry early in the contest

Waters outmuscled Ed Budde
Lanier sacked Trent Green and defeated Willie Roaf by a very narrow margin

# 2 Will Shields vs # 7 Buck Buchanon
# 3 Len Dawson vs # 6 Derrick Thomas
# 29 Travis Kelce vs # 12 Tony Gonzalez
Please post your thoughts about where I messed up or ask about who defeated your favorite player in the bracket.
I’m surprised Houston defeated Smith. And what the heck was Grbac doing in there?
Grbac was ranked # 119 – five spots ahead of Marcus Peters. One of my favorites – Dante Hall – barely missed being ranked in the top 128. My rationale about the Houston/Smith battle – Houston was the number one guy and truly dominant when he was not injured – Smith benefited by being across from DT. I could have easily advanced Smith and been satisfied.
