Thursday injury report for Chiefs vs. Rams, Week 12 | chiefswire

Check out the injury report for each team down below:

The Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Rams released their second injury reports of the week on Thursday. Both teams held quick, lighter practices on Thursday with the Thanksgiving holiday.

How the Chiefs should game plan for Week 12 vs. Rams | chiefswire

The Chiefs are red-hot, winners of their last four games and six of their last seven. They’re coming off a thrilling road victory over the Los Angeles Chargers and now have a commanding lead in the AFC West. K.C. is also the No. 1 seed in the AFC but has multiple teams on its heels.

Throwback Thursday: Chiefs defeat Broncos in Thanksgiving night debut in 2006 | chiefwire

15 years ago against the Broncos, the Chiefs had one of their most memorable Thanksgiving Day performances to start a new NFL tradition: The Turkey Day tripleheader. The game took place at Arrowhead Stadium on Nov. 23, 2006, during Week 12 of the NFL season. Up until that point, only two games had ever been played on a single Thanksgiving, but the NFL added a third game in primetime and the Chiefs were the first team to host it.

Former Rutgers football star is praised by Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy: ‘We’re expecting him to continue to be Isiah Pacheco’ | chiefswire

But I thought as the game went along, I thought he got in a rhythm. On top of that, our offensive line did an outstanding job. But you know one thing that I’m going to mention to him, and I’ll say it here, is anybody can do something once. It’s about putting consistent behavior on tape. And, so we’re going to need that from him, so he has to continue to evolve, he has to continue to grow but on top of that I know (running backs) coach (Greg Lewis) Lew is going to do an outstanding job with him as he has always done with that entire (running back) group. We’re expecting him to continue to be Isiah Pacheco.”

Chiefs RB Ronald Jones could make his debut in Week 12 | chiefswire

“Yeah, just it’s an opportunity to get in and work, literally,” Reid said. “And there’s a chance, he has a chance to play — a legitimate chance. But within that he’s got to make sure he has all the protections down and the timing of the runs. Those are things we’ll look at, but he’s been working at it and I don’t think he should have a problem with that.”

What’s interesting is that Jones being active isn’t considered a given, but instead a chance. You can see from Reid’s comments that there are things that Jones needs to take care of and prepare for during the practice week to prove himself. Things like getting the protection calls down and making sure he’s got his timing on runs and routes down.

One thing is for certain: Should Jones get the opportunity to play in Week 12, he’ll have to make the absolute most of it.

HEY GUYS –

Didn’t get to write a poem until just now due to a crowded house and being interrupted in my writing time. Finally, however, I have my latest Chiefs’ poem. This one is unlike all the others. This one doesn’t rhyme. Trying to be more evocative, using more metaphor and other literary devices. May be the last time I do this for awhile.

Nonetheless, enjoy my lastest Chiefs’ poem – “How the Mighty have Fallen”https://arrowheadguys.com/chiefs-poem-how-the-mighty-have-fallen-2022-nfl-week-12-kc-vs-lar/

Please read, rate, comment on the link, and share. And as always – GO CHIEFS!

AND ONCE MORE

11) 2003 13-3 (Vermeil’s only playoff appearance)
12) 1993 11-5 (Joe Montana concussion away from the Super Bowl)
13) 2015 11-5 (Leading Receiver – Maclin)
14) 2005 10-6 (The last of Dick Vermeil)
15) 1971 10-3-1 (Lenny’s pick for the best team)

Expect a lot of flak about 1971 being # 15

When you get to this level, there’s gonna be flak. ’71 was possibly the best team personnel-wise, but obviously not outcome-wise.
You’re probably safe because you have something to back it up with (why I asked), and it’s not just perception. Because based on perception, no chance I’d put any of those teams above ’71. And ’93 would be much higher based on the fact that they FINALLY got us this close to the SB
The only problem I see is that early teams are hampered by the game being different. Less offense, less scoring. Not sure how you’d adjust for that and why we will always think Otto Graham was a good QB, but not a truly great one. Which is nonsense, btw.

Otto Graham is # 11 on my All Time list – He is much better than most people realize. All stats can be deceiving and, in dangerous hands, manipulated.

18) 2016 12-4 (Andy, Alex, and Spencer Ware)

I know this is pointless to ask, but…

What are the criteria you are using for this list?

Hmmmm – I took every game ever played and ranked them based on points earned – each category was worth one hundred points. These categories included points scored, points allowed, offensive passing and rushing totals, defensive passing and rushing totals, turnovers, first downs and the like. Bonus points were added for a win, a divisional win, a playoff appearance and such. Afterwards, I compiled the total points accumulated by a team during a season and divided by the number of games to achieve an average score. Thus, the teams that played more games did not simply have the advantage of numbers. Example – the 2000 Chiefs had the most passing yards in a game – 473 – in a loss against the Raiders. The 2020 Chiefs had the second most passing yards – 456 – in a win against the Bucs. The 2000 Chiefs received 100 points for having the most; the 2020 team received 96.2 points as that is the percentage earned compared to the most. Repeat with the other categories – the 2000 team received only 9.8 points as they only rushed for 39 yards – less than ten percent of the most in Chiefs history. The 2020 team received 21.8 points as they had rushed for 87 yards. The defensive totals were subtracted from the offensive totals – Thus, a team with a great defense lost fewer points than teams with Suttonesque types of defenses. In the example above, the 2020 team received a bonus for the win whereas the 2000 team had the chance to earn two bonuses – for a win and for beating the Raiders – but failed to capitalize. My thinking there is that divisional wins are harder to achieve and are worth more in real life football.

The 1963 Chiefs passed for -22 yards in a loss against the Raiders. That was last place and they lost 4.6 points for that category.

Arrowhead needs to be LOUD – so loud that the Rams not only hear the noise, but feel the noise!

And the only way to feel the noise is when it’s good and loud!

well, now … THIS is “interesting”

a photo from 1957 showing kids in front a school blocking integration at North Little Rock High School in Arkansas … among them one Jerry Jones who was about 14 at the time

While I suspect that Jerry has maintained a great deal of that ole time prejudice, how can anyone crucify him for what he did at 14 some 65 years ago in Arkansas?

not saying he should be “hammered and crucified” for what happened when he was 14 yo … it would be nice if he said “yanno, that did happen and looking back on it, I was wrong and “we” were wrong to engage in that kind of behavior”

Attaboy, Rip, and you too CD – your morning java makes me want to climb mountains.

Ah, those Lions, they played the Bills hard, almost got to overtime if it weren’t for an exceptional catch by Diggs. I’ve said before how I have a soft spot for the Lions dating back to RB Barry Sanders. Well, they lost me a beer to my BIL who’s a Bills fan (yes, we watched those 13 seconds together, so sweet), and they failed to do the other AFC contenders a favour. They are moving in the right direction as a franchise but they have holes to fill. I heard on yesterday’s broadcast that injured rookie WR Jameson Williams could be back before season’s end, that’d help but it ain’t the only answer.

As always: go Chiefs, get that dub on Sunday!
