3 repliesBack it up, time to talk about the backup!
Chad Steven Henne was born July 2, 1985, in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania. He played football at Wilson Senior High School in West Lawn, Pennsylvania, starting at QB his freshman year. By the end of his junior year he had been offered forty scholarships and narrowed his choice to Miami, Michigan, Georgia, Tennessee, and Penn State. He announced he was going to Michigan before his first game as a senior.
In 2004, he ended up being the second true freshman in Michigan history to start on opening day.Β By the end of his college career he held several Michigan passing records.Β In the 2008 draft, he was selected in the 2nd round by the Dolphins. Β The quarterbacks selected ahead of him were Matt Ryan, Joe Flacco, and Brian Brohm.Β
After four years at Miami, he went to Jacksonville and spent six years there. He signed with the Chiefs in 2018 and has been backing up Patrick Mahomes ever since. He married Brittany Hartman, who he has known since he was in 4th grade. They started dating in high school, went to Michigan together, got engaged in 2008 and married in 2010.
