Let’s Talk About IT!
A (penny) wise man probably once said, “It’s better to win than to lose.” And much like a murder in the book or movie IT, the win wasn’t pretty. However, a win is a win. The Kansas City Chiefs had recently seemed like they lost it. Some fans around the world and the world wide web are convinced the Chiefs have lost it. Some fans have even signed petitions to bench Patrick Mahomes because they think he’s lost it. Some people smoke crack because of the cracky feeling IT gives them and think it’s definitely all it’s cracked up to be. But that’s here nor there, what is here and there is that the Kansas City Chiefs may not have IT, but what they do have is a two game winning streak and when you’re talking about their record in 2021. Now you can include the fact that IT is a record above .500 and not BENEATH it. IT’S NOT precisely at 500 like their historical WINS total, IT’S ABOVE IT AND WE LOVE IT! Take some pleasure in the fact that IT isn’t a losing record like the IT soundtrack featuring a song about the Loser’s Club. The Chiefs aren’t currently losers. The Chiefs WON! NOW it is Raiders week and the Kansas City Chiefs are set to battle it out in Las Vegas on NBC Sunday Night Football this weekend. Regardless of the Raiders roster and coaching woes, this is Chiefs vs. Raiders game going to be a battle as often is the case when it’s Raiders vs. Chiefs. No matter the record. No matter who’s in first place or last. It’s always a fight and if the Chiefs want to regain control of the AFC West. They’re going to have to FLY into the Raiders new town and leave Las Vegas with a WIN! What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. I don’t know about that. There are some in the inner city areas that have a choice between military or criminal lifestyle. Some of them consider the choice and pick military over getting killed. About 40% of the military is non combat. When you have a choice between being dead before you hit 30 or a 40% chance of not being killed you take the 40% chance.

I was required to get certain shots prior to going on to the plant grounds after the 2019 floods. It is something OSHA requires. They’re expected to be perfect, before they’re allowed off the hook, and maybe not even then. People like to lurk and wait, so they can pounce on the next bad thing. We saw that with Tyreek’s fake news story in the Star, and it’s a staple of workplace politics.
Becoming obsessed with whichever scapegoat you have latched on to is easy, since that’s all emotion-based. Looking for the actual problems is hard, it takes mental effort and is pretty unpleasant, too. It’s no wonder that we have our own flock of Chiefs players that people despise. Yes, despise, because turning a human being into a goat to sacrifice for your feelings is an act of dehumanizing them. They’re converted into something even lower than animals, into something disposable.
