Monday Night Arrowthread: Our love for Chiefs defeats an actual ‘Love’ of the Packers. W!

The Kansas City Chiefs are on a two game winning streak after they defeated Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday. Let’s talk about it in the Monday Night Arrowthread! Join AG to discuss…

Hello Arrowhead Guys. Welcome to your Monday Night Arrowthread. Tonight we’re all going to flying into WIN city. The skies are crystal clear and even though there’s rumors that there may be some turbulence along the journey, passengers can feel secure that AIR MAHOMES is going to reach its intended destination. If you have any questions about the Kansas City Chiefs flight please raise your hands and do the Tomahawk Chop until you’re called upon.

Reminder:

Ladies and gentlemen, the Captain has turned on the Fasten Seat Belt sign. If you haven’t already done so, please stow your carry-on luggage underneath the seat in front of you or in an overhead bin. Please take your seat and fasten your seat belt. And also make sure your seat back and folding trays are in their full upright position.

If you are seated next to an emergency exit, please read carefully the special instructions card located by your seat. If you do not wish to perform the functions described in the event of an emergency, please ask a flight attendant to reseat you.

We remind you that this is a non-smoking flight. Smoking is prohibited on the entire aircraft, including the lavatories. Tampering with, disabling or destroying the lavatory smoke detectors is prohibited by law.

If you have any questions about our flight today, please don’t hesitate to ask one of our flight attendants. Thank you.”

CHHHHIIIIIEEEEEFFFFFSSSSS!!!!!

FOR THE FLIGHT–THE CHIEFS ‘PACKED’ A WIN AGAINST THE GREATEST (Jordan) LOVE THEY’VE FACED THIS YEAR!

Hug it out!

Welcome to the W-INDY 500!

ALONG THE PATH TO 500 KANSAS CITY CHIEFS’ W’S, BIG RED FLEW PAST CURLY LAMBEAU IN WINS! (AGAINST THE PACKERS WITH LOVE!)

SPEECH!

Welcome to VICTORY Monday Night!

Thank the LORD!!!

Let’s Review!

Badgering LOVE!

Enough that Love was Scoreless in Kansas City like Tom Hanks until the Fourth Quarter!

Let’s Talk About IT!

A (penny) wise man probably once said, “It’s better to win than to lose.” And much like a murder in the book or movie IT, the win wasn’t pretty. However, a win is a win. The Kansas City Chiefs had recently seemed like they lost it. Some fans around the world and the world wide web are convinced the Chiefs have lost it. Some fans have even signed petitions to bench Patrick Mahomes because they think he’s lost it. Some people smoke crack because of the cracky feeling IT gives them and think it’s definitely all it’s cracked up to be. But that’s here nor there, what is here and there is that the Kansas City Chiefs may not have IT, but what they do have is a two game winning streak and when you’re talking about their record in 2021. Now you can include the fact that IT is a record above .500 and not BENEATH it. IT’S NOT precisely at 500 like their historical WINS total, IT’S ABOVE IT AND WE LOVE IT! Take some pleasure in the fact that IT isn’t a losing record like the IT soundtrack featuring a song about the Loser’s Club. The Chiefs aren’t currently losers. They’re winners of their past two NFL games and that’s a lovely winning fact (times tWWo)! Please enjoy IT!

Conclusion!

The Chiefs WON! NOW it is Raiders week and the Kansas City Chiefs are set to battle it out in Las Vegas on NBC Sunday Night Football this weekend. Regardless of the Raiders roster and coaching woes, this is Chiefs vs. Raiders game going to be a battle as often is the case when it’s Raiders vs. Chiefs. No matter the record. No matter who’s in first place or last. It’s always a fight and if the Chiefs want to regain control of the AFC West. They’re going to have to FLY into the Raiders new town and leave Las Vegas with a WIN! What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. So let’s make sure the Kansas City Chiefs leave a Raider beatdown that they’ll never forget all over the strip during this trip to SIN CITY and turn it into WIN CITY! Let’s FLY!

Time’s Yours!

DREW LOCK
QB, DENVER BRONCOS
comment image
Broncos placed Drew Lock on the reserve/COVID-19 list.Lock was ruled out due to COVID-19 protocols hours before the Broncos played on Sunday so his placement on the reserve/COVID list doesn’t come as a surprise. The backup quarterback is reportedly vaccinated so he’ll be able to return to the team with two negative tests 24 hours apart. If he isn’t activated before the team’s Week 10 date with the Eagles, Brett Rypien will back up Teddy Bridgewater once again.

Stupid seems to be a QB trait?

unless medically contraindicated (i.e. a fellow AG member, by multiple specialists) just get the shot. The known risks of covid outweighs the imangined of the vax and leaves the door open for variants for years to come.

No, unvaxed means more variants and greater spread of same (worldwide, not just here), we are just letting it get more widespread and dangerous at the same time.
Breakthrough infections were expected and can be serious, but better than raw dogging it.

how so? a virus running rampant will mutate, the slower the spread the less opportunity for mutation…how does a vax create a mutation? A virus mutates over time, reduce its time (i.e. Vax, reduce mutations)

A virus being “treated” with an insufficient antibody will mutate faster. Natural immunity is up to 37 TIMES more effective than any of the so-called vaccines. If the virus cannot be killed by the vaccine, which this one cannot be due to the animal reservoirs found within, then you are creating a playground for mutation.

KC Dude (A.K.A Zif)

Not true. If you have had the virus and also have been immunized you will have about a 25% higher effective rate than those that have just had the immunization alone.

From the study:

“Natural immunity and one vaccination may offer best protection

The analysis indicated that people who had never had the infection and received a vaccine in January or February of 2021 were up to 13 times more likely to contract the virus than people who had already had the infection.
The researchers also compared reinfection rates among people who had once had a confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection and were still unvaccinated and people who had once had the infection and had also received one dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.
Results showed that the unvaccinated group was twice as likely to contract the infection again, compared with those who had received one dose of the vaccine.”

viruses mutate constantly. its what they do. the number of hosts can be a factor, but remember, the overwhelming majority of viruses mutated from an animal virus. They change continuously, and this one has probably been less so than most influenzas

It was a proven vaccine that could actually kill the virus and provide permanent immunity. This is a flu shot that still makes it possible to catch, transmit, be hospitalized, and even die from the thing it is supposed to neutralize. Aside from that, not much.

I don’t know about that. There are some in the inner city areas that have a choice between military or criminal lifestyle. Some of them consider the choice and pick military over getting killed. About 40% of the military is non combat. When you have a choice between being dead before you hit 30 or a 40% chance of not being killed you take the 40% chance.

A lot of those kids are smarter than you expect. A 40% chance of not being killed before 30 is not much of a choice for a lot of them. I know a few from a rival school from back in the 80’s that didn’t make it past 89. Some went on to the military and are still around. Teens see this and the choice is not an option for them.

I was required to get certain shots prior to going on to the plant grounds after the 2019 floods. It is something OSHA requires. OSHA may be a pain in the ass when running a business, but is still less costly than having half your staff dead or in the hospital. The place I work at has had one guy in quarantine four times this year and twice last year, and he is in quality assurance. I am near to enforcing my 2nd amendment on those that can’t take the effort to help themselves, and those around them.

The variants are getting worse, and the unvaccinated among us are contributing (I am vaccinated) to this. Right about now around 27% of those hospitalized are in their teens. Those in the 5 – 11 age group were just now authorized to get their shots. We are looking at a 5 – 6 week window before they would be immunized at around a 65% efficacy rate. Much higher than the seasonal flu shot, but still not near the 95 – 99% rate prior to Delta.

Actually, they are all members of the “If you ever drop a single pass again, we’ll hate on you harder” club, but I’m in the minority on that, in spite of the obvious existence of said club around here.

Hardman dropped a pass when he got hit on the arms as the ball arrived, and what did he get? The usual derision. All the players in that club, and its parallel on the defense raise the questi9on: Would you still want to get rid of them right now, if you knew the replacements would be worse?

I think a lot of folks here would say yes, and make the team worse because of their emotions. Why? Because that’s literally the situation if you get rid of them right now, and they’re all designated for a John the Baptist treatment. Replacing someone you believe isn’t good with someone the relevant experts know is worse is not a strategy to improve performance.

and thus my reasoning for NOT wanting OBJ 🙂

Just so, but the problem is that once someone’s identified a person as “the problem”, that’s it, they can never be good enough to change that, because the only thing that matters is their (perceived) errors. They’re expected to be perfect, before they’re allowed off the hook, and maybe not even then. People like to lurk and wait, so they can pounce on the next bad thing. We saw that with Tyreek’s fake news story in the Star, and it’s a staple of workplace politics.

Becoming obsessed with whichever scapegoat you have latched on to is easy, since that’s all emotion-based. Looking for the actual problems is hard, it takes mental effort and is pretty unpleasant, too. It’s no wonder that we have our own flock of Chiefs players that people despise. Yes, despise, because turning a human being into a goat to sacrifice for your feelings is an act of dehumanizing them. They’re converted into something even lower than animals, into something disposable.

BleedingRedAndGold
Reply to  BleedingRedAndGold

As someone who’s frequently been treated as disposable, it greatly disturbs me to experience others reveling in that symbolic form of human sacrifice. There’s often too much reality to the symbolism.

Therefore, I have faded back from AG a lot. I can’t stop folks from doing that crap, and so I don’t want to experience the feeding frenzy, even if I’m not what’s being butchered. It brings back too many bad memories, especially now. So those who love to hate Chiefs players have the floor, and can bash our team to their heart’s content.

Untrue. I present Jamal Charles. He was a “fumbler.” He is now one of the most beloved Chiefs of all time.

The same goes for Kelce – but neither were the focal points I described. Mentioning the exceptions doesn’t invalidate the phenomenon, so calling what I said untrue is itself untrue.

And as I already related, this phenomenon exists in many other places. You cannot truthfully say that people do not place those they fixate on in impossible situations, because it’s real. And it’s usually attributable to those who’re too lazy to do the hard mental work of troubleshooting systems.

“Haters gonna hate” is a cliché for a damn good reason, so I avoid the haters hating on people. I’ve been the focus of that sort of thing far too often and far too recently to do otherwise. Were I to try, I’d likely have a bullet for breakfast before the season ended.

  • Browns join rare club. The Browns became the first team since 1967 — and just fourth in NFL history — to record a passing TD, a rushing TD and a defensive TD that all went for 60 yards or more (The 1967 Chargers, 1966 Chiefs and 1966 Washington are the other three teams to pull that off).

As long as the Browns/Ravens have been around you would think they would have joined that club already.

OK is not scheduling boosters as of yet. I thought I might be able to get one if I open carried into the health center here, so I grabbed my lever action 30-30, my 9mm, my bow with 1 1/4″ broad heads and two swords. They told me to take a seat and fill out the paper work, and promptly denied me. I probably should not have worn a kilt.
