You’ll Laugh, I’d Bet My Life
84 repliesThe merriment at AG continues, and your MC Pomp has some choice flicks lined up, Daddy-O!
Your friendly neighborhood editor-man here, and since I’m forced to provide y’all with an introduction of sorts, first up I’m going off on a wildly different comedy tangent, but one that has a distinct artistic connection to Pomp’s offering, and I don’t mean they’re in black & white.
The Paramount Marx Bros. films are classics, Room Service (RKO) is close, the MGM productions are OK until Go West when they declined from disappointing to just bad.
Now go, and never darken my towels again.
This one might get me banned, to be fair my lady friends that have survived breast cancer enjoy this song. NSFW
Unfortunately guys health and mental Heath get no promotion in society. Suck it up and put that crap in your gut for later.
Good stuff!
I went to a job interview one time and the lady was robust. Me mentally, do not look down, do not look down, shit. She was super cool and half her breasts were hanging out.
…and…
She liked my portfolio.
did you fix the cable?
Hope you are doing reasonably well. I’m gonna watch the SR 71 vid now. A fascinating bit of engineering.
Wonder why they never used that power plant on other airframes?
I don’t know, most of that stuff isn’t given to the public for 20 years or longer. I think it was designed in the late 50’s. And wasn’t released until the mid 80’s.
was thinking military, but could have been patents / contract rights etc.
There would be, propulsion have change in the military. I don’t remember what the design was but if you would look up in the sky and see a vapor trail that looked like a rope with knots in it was one of the last ones I knew about. Most of that stuff went to satellites. Cheaper.
I never worked for the military.
the after hours club is open
that too re:satellites.
It is, my brother met some of the people who engineered the inlet designs for the engines.
Ha, I’m imagining that’s all they ever talk about..I’m also a little high.
i don’t know, most people like to talk about a good cup of coffee. I hope that it gets legalized in Kansas. It has its medical purposes, when your really sick and can’t eat it helps.
*small govt indeed
Idaho Senate Passes Measure To Block Marijuana Legalization, Even If Voters Approve It On The Ballot
wtaf?
Yeah, let’s put em on all kinds of shit from the pharmacy to keep it going. Oh your script ran out and you have to pay to have a non narcotic or 13 refilled.
Shit. chronic pain patients that need opioids can’t get them…400mg of Motrin and move along.
TBC yes they were overprescibed and underegulated but now some people that relied on them are denied access.
Now that I got the covid vaccine I’m going to start dating again, and so I added a picture from my friend’s wedding that his now-wife and her cousin said were good, plus my female friend from Germany (I like to run my pictures by women first since they’re better at judging them than I am).
So in the middle of talking to a girl I matched with I uploaded that picture, and suddenly she stopped replying to me. I wonder if my female friends gave me bad advice.
Let us pick your profile pic.

Is he single? Just asking for a friend…
He looks like the sort of person that “collects” girlfriends.
The confusing part for me is he’s only 19.
Stop hacking my phone!
This is something I wonder about. When is it the end, and when do we go back to normal – or progress to a new sense of normalcy?

Given the last year, it we will return to normal well before we should. Over and over again we’ve erred on the side of not doing enough, so I’d expect once we get to the point where everybody who wants a vaccine can get one (2 months?) we’ll be pretty much back to normal over the protestations of the experts.
The Coconuts (Marx Brothers) / Duck Soup
Blazing Saddles / Young Frank
Monty Python’s Grail or Life of Brian
Airplane
other?
As a music fan This is Spinal Tap and Walk Hard.
the title certainly qualifies as Risque … love it, thank ya
Since we’re doing more comedy, I’ll note that I probably won’t watch this one today, I’m just dropping it here because the portrait bears a striking resemblance to a well-known actor in a comedy series that would be a cult classic, except it was much too popular for that.
this … saw it coupla yrs ago and thought (at the time) it was like THE single funniest thing I ever laid eyes on … it’s just how I’m wired

and BECAUSE of that wiring, one thing leads to another …

Sew corny…
I thought that one would have you in stitches.
if we had jokes about gambling, I’m sure others would chip in …
you’re welcome
I bet they don’t..
it’s in the cards
Hahaha, I was struggling.. a tip of the hat.
… I thought maybe you just didn’t even tarot all
Hahaha… perfect… 😂
Seems to be the common thread…
I am just so damned PROUD of every single one of ya today!
Aren’t you quite the joker..
Space Cowboy or Joker of Love? (Steve Miller Band)
my work here is done (angelic smile)
Brian Regan has got some great stuff on Netflix.
This is my favorite scene on “Seinfeld,” combined with an outtake that is, in my mind, even better.
Watched that last night and agree.
If you can find it, “Just Shoot Me” is also fantastic. A bit dated (1997-2003), but still great. I’ve provided one of its funniest scenes. I think it was at one time syndicated on TBS, but I’m not sure where it’s at now. One of those channels you can only find in a hotel in the middle of the night, I think.
For context: the woman with the puffed up lips is having an allergic reaction to some dip she eats, which unbeknownst to her is made from peanuts. The scene below comes from her appearance on a nationally-syndicated morning talk show, which she is guesting on to give out tips for makeup.
Snappy writing. Steven Levitan of “Modern Family” fame was the creator/lead writer of this show.
I was referring to Brian Reagan, but again agree on Just Shoot Me, top 3 sitcom for the era.
this post needs a 10 star rating … Groucho & Co my favorites (as evidenced by the numerous quotes of his I often use in my blues shows)
pompano, you and I have so much in common it’s scary … for that matter YOU’RE scary … meet me at midnight in the moonlight, you’re my kinda girl

so just read this and wondered … what, exactly, is a Hunter Dozier? and am I required to read the ENTIRE article, and how can I get MY OWN $25 million contract to play a game? please advise … willing to undertake rigorous Time Travel if necessary
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Royals and third baseman Hunter Dozier have agreed to a $25 million, four-year contract that includes a fifth-year option, a person with knowledge of the agreement told The Associated Press on Sunday.
The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the deal was pending a physical. ESPN.com was first to report the extension, which buys out two years of free agency and includes several escalators and bonuses.
“As I’ve said many times, we want to keep as many of our talented players as we possibly can,” Royals general manager Dayton Moore said last week, when the team reported for full-squad workouts in Surprise, Arizona. “We’ll always look to do that when the opportunity is right. There is a rhythm to that, there is a timing to all those decisions.”
Thanks…I think?
Hahaha, forgot about your towels….😂
Didn’t think anyone would catch that, hey BRaG give the man his $100 🙂
There’s all sorts of people and things trying to do you, kill you, rip you off, everything. If you’re going to survive out there, you’ve really got to know where your towel is.
Absofuckinglutely ….
What if you don’t own a towel?
“I’ve come to the right place then”
