1: Kansas City Chiefs (Last Week: 1)
Have you ever seen one of those “Luigi Wins By Doing Nothing” videos? They’re great, take a look.
In this case it’s Mahomes, who managed to catapult himself to the top of the MVP race while sitting on his couch.
2: Pittsburgh Steelers (Last Week: 3)
3: Green Bay Packers (Last Week: 7)
4: Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Last Week: 8)
5: Buffalo Bills (Last Week: 6)
The Bills may have lost, but it’s hard to blame them too much for losing on a play like that. I don’t see any problem keeping them this high when they had a close game on the road against a good team.
6: Seattle Seahawks (Last Week: 2)
7: Indianapolis Colts (Last Week: 9)
8: Tennessee Titans (Last Week: 4)
9: Baltimore Ravens (Last Week: 5)
10: Arizona Cardinals (Last Week: 12)
Are you ready to be shocked? I think the Ravens may be a bit underrated now. If you’ve regularly read my power rankings you know the deal with the Ravens; they’re great with short fields, but struggle when forced to regularly put together long drives and score. Against the Patriots their best starting field position was their own 27, and even then there’s a good chance they win if it wasn’t for the rain (which seemed to bother them a lot more than it did the Patriots, for some reason).
11: Miami Dolphins (Last Week: 11)
12: Las Vegas Raiders (Last Week: 14)
13: Los Angeles Rams (Last Week: 13)
I know I have the Dolphins high, but I think they’re being a bit overrated. Their last 3 wins weren’t quite as impressive as they might seem, but their next 3 games are against the Broncos, Jets, and Bengals, so they could very easily be 9-3 by the time they host the Chiefs.
I hate ranking the Raiders this high, but the teams below 13 aren’t really very good, so they’re kind of there by default.
14: New Orleans Saints (Last Week: 10)
15: Los Angeles Chargers (Last Week: 16)
16: Carolina Panthers (Last Week: 17)
17: Minnesota Vikings (Last Week: 18)
The Saints are tough to rank with Brees out. I have a sneaking suspicion that Winston might actually do better than Brees. Instead of a quarterback who can barely throw, they now have one with an arm that rivals Mahomes’. Sure, he had tons of interceptions in 2019, but the Saints have a less aggressive offense than Tampa Bay, so he might be dangerous.
18: San Francisco 49ers (Last Week: 19)
19: Detroit Lions (Last Week: 20)
20: Chicago Bears (Last Week: 15)
21: Cleveland Browns (Last Week: 21)
22: Cincinnati Bengals (Last Week: 22)
23: Houston Texans (Last Week: 23)
24: New England Patriots (Last Week: 24)
I still don’t believe in the Patriots at all. They managed to execute the anti-Ravens gameplan well, but it should speak volumes that even Belichick admits their roster sucks.
Usually I adjust teams based on injuries, but with the Bears on a bye I’m not going to move them until we see where their QB injuries stand in 2 weeks.
25: Atlanta Falcons (Last Week: 26)
26: Philadelphia Eagles (Last Week: 25)
27: Denver Broncos (Last Week: 27)
28: New York Giants (Last Week: 28)
29: Washington Football Team (Last Week: 29)
30: Jacksonville Jaguars (Last Week: 30)
31: Dallas Cowboys (Last Week: 31)
32: New York Jets (Last Week: 32)
The Jaguars will beat the Steelers this week (or else be very close), just watch. Luton is decent, and the Steelers are notorious for playing down to bad opponents on the road (see their game against the Cowboys for an example).
