Tier 4: You Can Win With Them2021: Derek Carr, Kirk Cousins, Ryan Fitzptrick, Carson Wentz
2022: Carr, Cousins, Tannehill, Prescott, Murray, Jameis Winston, Jalen Hurts, Mac Jones, Tua Tagovailoa
You can reach the playoffs with these guys and a decent supporting cast. But they are not putting a team on their back and keeping it there. They are not going to have historically significant seasons. They will do enough to keep teams paying them quite well, but they will leave you lacking when the stakes get highest.

Ever heard of the gay Irish couple, Patrick Fitzgerald and Gerald Fitzpatrick?
So glad Carr ( Wreck ) has a Nice New, Lucrative Contract w/ the RaiDuhs … ; )

Guess we’re getting EDGE help next year. Good to know.
The Pick I don’t agree with is the one where the Chiefs are picking @ # 30 instead of # 32 … ; )
Tyrann Mathieu is a Chiefs legend.
I’ve seen some assertions about how increased crime is out of control, and while that’s much more hyperbole than based on known statistics and trends, I’ll limit my comments to the implied solution, i.e. getting harsher WRT policing.
Police in schools is not a solution, especially when kids getting involved in the minor naughtiness common to the age get thrust into the legal system, with adult consequences. A 12 – 14yo getting into a minor scuffle shouldn’t be subjected to police intervention, as “cracking down” that way does harm while teaching the kid facing consequences that will dog her life forever nothing of value. It certainly doesn’t make them want to respect laws, not when the lesson is “you never know when you’ll be busted for being normal”. In that situation, why worry about laws that you can’t understand?

Another Helsinki undergound vid
Those odds mostly make sense, but only 4-1 for last seems crazy low. I’d demand at least 10-1.
I looked at the schedule of opponents again today
What looked daunting 2 months ago Now does not
Chargers, were and are daunting but we can split with them since their HC is still their HC
Raiders, same QB, tough team
Broncos, well they have a QB and a D
I would think at worst we go 4-2
NFC West – 3-1 or 2-2 at worst
AFC South – 3-1 at worst
Bills, Bengals, Rams – all tossups
10-12 wins
I tried to watch more film of Hardman and Gamepass is so broken that it was essentially impossible. How can the NFL get away with destroying this product? It makes me think they actively hate NFL creators.
While you may not have been entirely serious with that last bit, it may actually be accurate. The league’s always prevented embedding of videos that include game footage, or at least forced the viewer to watch on YT, and has been drifting toward a model where the only way you can watch is by paying a fee.
Of course, that’s completely at odds with their attempts to spread interest in the NFL overseas, since why would someone who isn’t a fan shell out good money in order to learn to watch a sport they’ve never seen? Site like ours, and also YT channels could serve as international ambassadors, but when you’re all about control, that looks too much like the little guys making a little $$$ at their expense. The zero-sum game mentality’s not logical here.
I am actually serious for exactly that reason. I have never seen anything like this, where a company just completely destroyed the functionality of their product for no reason and did nothing to fix it. I don’t understand why they even bother with it if they don’t want people to use it.
Twitter?
At a guess, they view the platform to be a fan’s one-and-done place to watch games. Those who actually want to analyze film aren’t given an easy time of it, though of course I’m working from your account of the system. Dan might have some useful insight, though.
I have been watching different games, but they all kick out around the 3rd qtr and drop out of the NFL app. Then you spend forever getting back to where you were WRT the time left in the game and within 5 minutes it kicks out again. Frustrating…..
thoughts for the Ukranian defenders in Mauripol

CB’s and WR’s up
Tony pissed off Twitter today
I am really surprised people got so upset over that. For one I didn’t think it was that controversial, but I thought people hated Hardman. I thought I was late to the party, not a crazy guy by himself.
The problem was people wanted him to be Hill 2.0 when he is closer to say a better version of Dexter McCluster.
In the game I watched he just is incredibly lazy when running routes. He does go routes well, and he is obviously good at screens and reverses and the like. But at the end of the day he’s a gadget player, and while he’s valuable enough to keep right now, if that $4 million could help land an impact player I think he’s expendable.
Think this is the year Hardman shows up big time.. And going out a limb here and say Gordon also improves..
Justyn Ross
Hell ya, we have some competition at WR going to be a fun camp
Ross is by far the best value of our rookie class if healthy. That’s a big if though. He’s had to overcome a lot to even have a shot.
Trey Smith was another medical risk. All things considered, I expect Team Veach to have done their due diligence on the medical side, as I seem to recall them checking off on at least one other player with medical questions.
If there’s one thing that working with Reid since he got his break is thorough attention to detail. Doesn’t make him perfect, but from what I see in league FOs, it’s not very common.
another thought
The Chiefs have been pretty good at finding talented damaged goods and reclaiming them to be productive players
If this kid has even 85% of what he showed as a freshman, he will be a BEAST
That’s what I was wondering when I went to watch it, and his routes just look terrible for being several years in the league already. This was week 18 in his best game, so if he was improving that was the game he’d show it in.
I doubt Gordon makes the team
some talk today
Chiefs keep say 7 at the most WR’s
Hardman
Smith-Shuster
Valdez-Scandling
Skyy Moore
so the next 3 have to play special teams also
Kemp
or actually have upside
Justyn Ross
You forgot Deter… I don’t think Patrick’s buddy‘s going anywhere
Dieter has offered literally nothing for us in the time he’s been with us.
not a damn thing …
What is “What can skinny girls do for you?”
I give ?
I believe that would be not a damn thing.
I like skinny Women
Don’t see many anymore
lest they are all tatted up and drugged up
Google “Tom Hanks Black jeopardy”. Worth the 6 minutes.
Well … He has given us this … : )
touch my monkey!
Active roster for the 53
1 Hardman
2 JuJu
3 MVS
4 Moore
5 Kemp
6a Ross (Wouldn’t be surprised if he was on pup or IR instead)
6b Gordon
Contract year. I agree he will, just don’t know if it will be enough to warrant keeping him
There are a lot of reasons that taek doesn’t make sense. Chief among them is his cost; relatively cheap given the rookie contract. He isn’t unproductive and he offers a skillset no other receiver on the roster has
This may or may not be seen, but just in case, well said, and welcome to the community.
Yeah, no way they are cutting the only WR that has caught any meaningful passes from Mahomes.
So I decided to throw on some Wisconsin Defense vs Rutgers and a couple of things stood out. Chenal is a beast, Pacheco is the best pass blocking RB the Chiefs have, and Rutgers really couldn’t block for shit.
Ooh I didn’t think about that, that’s a fun game to look at. Maybe worthy of a full article (hint hint hint)
People were concerned about Pacheco’s ability to catch out of the backfield but any time he was in on a passing situation he was likely blocking someone. I started watching it for Chenal not even thinking that Pacheco played for Rutgers. I came away impressed with Pacheco as a runner to the point where I could see him making the 53 and maybe even taking over the starting job. Rutger’s OL made the Chiefs SB 55 OL look like The Great Wall of Dallas.
Pacheco played behind one of the most overmatched olines I have ever seen. It’s hard to get a read on his ability to read blocks because his oline rarely made good blocks. He’s a wild card for sure.
I could see him making the 53, but not as the starting RB, not this season. Pass blocking’s definitely useful, but even if he turns out to have good hands, Reid likely won’t put receiving duties on him out of the gate. It seems to have become a pattern with him.
What I want to see this season is the return of the screen game. Reid’s teams have traditionally been very good at it, but it’s been notably lacking in the last two seasons. I mark that down to Covid two seasons ago, and an OL that needed work last year, a case of ‘if you can’t get it right by his standard, they don’t do it much’. I see no reason that the situation will continue going forward, now that he has the time and tools to work the offense up properly, in this regard.
I think Reid’s screen game requires a choreography from the o line that takes some time to get down pat…
remember that we have an OC, that sorta calls the plays…..
maybe the game plan will Offensively improve with the former OC on the staff?
The Kansas City Chiefs are bringing back a familiar face as the team’s quarterbacks coach for the 2022 season. Former Chicago Bears head coach and Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy is returning to Kansas City, the team announced Friday.Feb 25, 2022
A lot of those guys on our staff have proven to be pretty sharp minds.. When they start brainstorming, the offense could be an extension of what we have done, but still look a lot different to the DC’s of other teams.
Not as the starting RB this year but he is going to take somebodies job.
I was looking for individual games to get a better read.
It’s been said before but that Iowa game is Chenal’s finest tape imo. He looked so dominant playing “mugged up” that game.
She was so excited to win backstage passes to the Bill Cosby comedy show.
It was a knockout show.
Nice landing Capt. Sully.
EDGE: GEORGE KARLAFTIS, KANSAS CITY CHIEFSHM: Kingsley Enagbare, Green Bay Packers | Aidan Hutchinson, Detroit Lions
Karlaftis has an easy path to the field thanks to Kansas City’s lack of edge talent in a defense that covets his exact skill set. The comp for Karlaftis from many in the pre-draft process was former New York Giants defensive end Justin Tuck because of the inside-outside versatility when rushing the passer. Tuck’s two highest-graded seasons came under now-Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo in 2007 and 2008 with the Giants.
