Welcome to Draft Day #3!

The draft is over, but there’s still more work to do as plenty of undrafted players will be signed. I’ll try to add them here as they’re signed, but I’m just one man so check the comments for the latest signings.

How in the hell did the Pats get “value”?

Top two teams on that list have possibly the two largest national fanbases. I’m thinking that’s not a coincidence.

Wayyyy down (up, depending on how you have things set up) this post is a tweet from Sapp that Tony posted. Best drafts in terms of value. We are 3rd in both, but in this one the boys are 2, Pats 1, and the donks are fifth. In THAT one, donks are last on the list, the Pats are close to it, and the boys do no better than mid pack. Are there different way to rate value? Or is one of these guys totally wrong?

RB from Rutgers ran a 4.37. Nice.

Chiefs snag Rutgers running back Isiah Pacheco with their penultimate pick of the 2022 #NFLDraft. NFL Network pundits gushing about him … even comparing him to KC prep legend and former K-State and NFL star Darren Sproles.

Compare this blurb from Lance Zierlein against what we think about Karlaftis:

Spoiler
Trey Hendrickson

More of a second-effort sack man than a quick-win specialist, but he did show some edge rushing ability at the Shrine Game practices that didn’t flash as often on tape. His lack of length on the edge will be a turnoff for some, but he flashes enough to warrant a third-day draft selection as a backup 4-3 defensive end who could continue to develop as a rusher with additional work.

George Karlaftis*, DE, Purdue
Height: 6-4. Weight: 275. Arm: 32.63. Hand: 10.25.
Projected 40 Time: 4.84.
Projected Round (2022): 1

4/27/22: In 2021, Karlaftis recorded 36 tackles, 4.5 sacks, two passes broken up and two forced fumbles. He is an interesting player because team sources say he shows some ability as a pass rusher, including functional strength to get off blocks, but that does not translate to defending the run, where he needs to get stronger for the NFL. Karlaftis worked out well at the combine and interviewed well according to team sources. Some team sources view him as a mid-first-rounder while others think he belongs late in Round 1. They think he is safe pick to turn into a solid, if unspectacular, pro.

KC has to find someone who fits the “spectacular” moniker off the edge. They just have to.

10 picks for Chiefs this year, 7 on defense. 3 CBs, 2 safeties, 1 DE, 1 WR, 1 LB, 1 OL, 1 RB.
They hit every position group except QB and TE.

2023 NFL Draft, Kansas City is on the clock.
As of right now, the Chiefs hold 10 picks in next year’s draft: their own seven picks, a third-round comp pick (Ryan Poles) and Miami’s fourth & Chicago’s sixth for Tyreek Hill. Also in line for a seventh-round FA comp pick.

Really sucks for us Mathieu hasn’t signed anywhere yet. If he signed for what we signed Reid for, I think we would be in line for a 4th instead of a 7th.

At this point I actually would believe that Spags is specifically trolling us.

I am highly displeased that there was so little done to address the elephant in the defensive room.

We signed that quality DT from Indy. I wanted us to draft another one with pass rush potential, but we do have enough people to fill the roster.

We need more IMPACT players

Melvin & Justin would be great

I don’t trust Clark
And he might get suspended for his bone head gun charge

James Jones on NFL Total Access says Skyy Moore was his favorite WR in the draft. Instant #1.

Former NFL WR James Jones if I remember correctly.

I usually like guys that played the position opinion on players.
