That’s right, I’m linking to myself. The playoff success under Reid has been amazing and far and away the best run in Chiefs history. But, of course, a lot of that is thanks to Mahomes, who has already passed some NFL franchises himself.
Not only does Mahomes have more playoff wins (6 to 5), he has the same number of Super Bowl appearances and one more win.

So Scotus says congress must pass legislation to address certain issues, fine. Congress passed Voting Rights Act, then Scotus gutted it.
I’m not for federalizing elections, but a federal minimum standard should apply to all states (not unsimilar to minimum standards for healthcare). getting rid of drop boxes is restrictive.
The SCOTUS does a lot of things that turn out questionable over the course of time, such as creating “qualified immunity” out of nothing, but here’s the thing. No matter how bad a decision of them might actually be, ordinary news media are going to give folks the wrong ideas about them.
Remember how they supposedly ruled that “corporations are people! OMBWTFBBQ!!1!@!”? That was over a group of citizens who formed an LLC nonprofit for their political messaging, messages that were censored by state action over their quite legal content. Ruling otherwise would effectively prevent people from forming LLCs for the purpose of such messaging, since state actors could shut the messaging down for partisan political reasons.
You can’t say that Obama’s Pen & Phone presidenting is allowable and then turn around and say that Trump’s was impermissible. Once the precedent (a bad one, IMO) was set, by the Dems, the Reps got to use it, too (and proved my point again). Thus does partisan hostility erode the limitations on gov’t.
Fair enough, but “political messaging” became corp political campaign contribs.
An under considered decision led to predictable consequences.

I don’t actively do legal research, I just keep up with the news from reliable sources, which includes some cross-checking between platforms. That means reading what lawyers write, not stringers & beat reporters. FWIW, my sources lean Libertarian-Left.
Regardless, this is not amenable to the typical internet discussion format, or I’d do some fast googling, find some factoids, and slam back. If you want to discuss an issue, I’m happy enough to do it, but not with those who have nothing more to bring than some article by a journalist. Journalists do not, as a rule, understand law or science, so they’re very apt to mislead.
Are eggs good or bad for you? Can people associate to advocate for a political cause, or is it just the wealthy who get to speak out?
That decision wasn’t “under-considered”, though. If content-based censorship of political messaging is allowable, then it simply comes down to who’s in power at the time. Or if you prefer, it means that rich people get to put out political messages by purchasing ad space, but non-rich individuals of a like mind cannot associate to advocate to fund advertising for the opposite candidate, because forming a nonprofit to such an end means they’re censored by cost.
So, which would you prefer, groups of ordinary people being allowed to associate, in order to be able to match up against wealthy people, with corporations like Monsanto, GM, Apple, etc maybe, someday, actually advocating for a candidate, someday? Or do you prefer ‘him what pays, says’?
I’ll await the DVs on this one, too, but the funny thing about rights is that defending them only when ‘nice’ people get theirs violated is how you lose them.
I understand the argument, but it gave more power to the Apple/MS etc rather than leveling the plying field.

Typical news story regarding law. You get an outcome, and a heavy implication of a Party, and…nothing of actual substance. Like the bad reporting about a 1stA case I mentioned earlier (look for the DVs), it explains nothing while pretending to mean something.

You’ve said a number of things about this story, but the thing is, you’ve still said nothing about the status of the law in the court system. I think I’d have run across if it’s been ruled on by the SCOTUS. All you’ve mentioned is that 300 people out of however many hundreds of thousands…have been denied registration permanently?
No way of telling, from here, and frankly, I’m not willing to waste the skull sweat to get up to speed on it, only to talk about it with those who can’t be bothered.
So, you can argue the case before a judge, and easily win, or does your inability to do so prove corruption?
Seems that I have to point this much out, though. I am not a supporter of this TX law, nor the one WRT abortion. That’s a workaround that sets a dangerous precedent, in the latter case. It’s sure to be attempted WRT gun ownership, if it stands.
Much of what both sides do is disingenuous on it’s face, very frustrating.

FTIW, Tony is worth a follow on the bird app (I rarely interact but do look). He’s as logical and measured as you would expect, even on hot button issues (sorry I don’t “like” or comment more, just assume I agree 98% of the time).

just finished the other 500 … it IS a lot, even small wts, it HAS to be helping SOME, likely not burning all THAT many calories (I wouldn’t think) but anything it does is a good thing (and if “more reps” = good, then yeah, this seems pretty good, for now)
for now gonna keep same wts (not increase) but want to do 1,000/day and switch off between curls and bench press, see how THAT goes for a week with basically same diet (calories) and see where I am

I hear ya. As the years speed by the time takes it’s toll on the body and mind. I see the wall up ahead and know the day will come I too will never visit the hallowed ground again in person but in ash. I just try to cram all the fun times in now I feel blessed being able to have. A few year ago the other two finally agreed to get together and Steve even brought along a few more cool guys. We try to hit one each year. It’s crazy. I limp around each day at work and home. But get me at Arrowhead I buzz around like the oldsters in the movie cocoon. The actual game is just like the icing on Andy’s cake.

Patrick has shown that he has ice in his veins and can carry a team in the most clutchest of moments. Josh Allen – a very good quarterback – has panicked in similar situations.
Agree completely. I just don’t think that we can honestly say that either one of them are done improving at this point in their careers. I don’t believe that Allen will ever surpass Mahomes. I do think he has more growth to go before he reaches his peak.
Both will improve – scary when you think about that. This could be a make or break game for Allen – IF he loses again and shows the panic, he will be characterized as such and start to weigh on him. IF he wins, he moves up a notch in everyone’s eyes.
Guess he’ll have to figure out how to live with the characterization then.

Really? I didn’t realize that’s how federal holidays worked. I mean I could have taken it had I really wanted since my work has unlimited PTO but I want to save it for some trips once covid stops going insane.

Yeah, but they call it unlimited to make it sound better. It’s “unlimited” in that you don’t have a set amount, but obviously if you start taking too many they’re going to stop approving them.
There should at least be a minimum in the contract, but I have never worked for a big corp.
They said a minimum of 14 I think. I’m definitely going to push it.

I noticed on my off season fillers that when they got over 20-30 comments, they usually had nothing to do with the subject (when I had one).
