Tuesday Night OT: Brett Veach hints that more moves are coming.
166 repliesWelcome to Arrowhead Guys–TuesdayNight Open Thread. Talk about the Kansas City Chiefs or anything you would like. Time’s Yours.
Brett Veach has said 3-4 times that after they get Orlando Brown Jr done that they could have additional resources for a move

Started watching for Chenal but ended up watching Pacheco (Number 1). I think we found our new RB. If he could do that with shitty blocking against Wisconsin, we might have a steal. He is already the Chiefs best pass protecting RB.

– If a Supreme Court decision has ruled a practice legal, then retracts that decision 50 years later, it does not mean that one ruling is more “Constitutional” than the other. The difference is determined entirely by the justices who chose to make those separate decisions.
I swear if baseball players would learn to bunt we wouldn’t need to get rid of the shift.
Oh and to my wrestling fans…
she certainly has a big mouth
Ana is a babe.
that seems perjorative
What she said
GODDAMN!! I wish I could rec that more than once!
About time the Chiefs got back to their style of defense and that is physical.
sign Melvin Ingram
He is coming back. You don’t use that tag without making sure he is going to sign.
he would be a great mentor for Karlaftis
how much did he make last year? Up it 10-15% ?
hope the tender offer works
not sure they’ve had a “style” of defense since Marty, some good years, yes
Those RAC and early Sutton defenses were great.
a lot of fun to watch!
Yep Romeo era was up there.
Hats off to Clark for being a good guy and not canning RAC until after the season ended especially after what he saw that unfortunate December afternoon. I remember that day as well as any.
Any Gator fan could have told you that Meyer was going to be a disaster. Oh wait we did.
ok, off to sleepland or whatever … trip to Front Range tomorrow, butcher (I mean, surgeon!) on Thurs, home late Fri
y’all solve all the problems of the world and save civilization and humanity while I’m gone
George Carlin is still relevant 14 years after his death.
saw this, didn’t think about the spoiler, also this
Carlin speaks the truth though.
I don’t normally double post but some jackass red birds fan chucked Bobby Witt Jr’s first HR ball into the fountains.
the hate will run deep!
Bader deserves to get beaned for being a dick.
We got ours back in the 7th, though.
Being q brewers fan I can tell u, st Louis fans are the fucking worst. Just complete assholes
Turns out it was actually Bader which makes it even worse.
I take it you’ve never been to yankee Stadium
whatta maroon
Toub is going to get some damn fine players. Deep rosters make for deep special teams.
especially since all those guys can run good
Chenal and Cook are going to find themselves on ST’s and that isn’t a bad thing.
any guess on the Gunners on Punt team?
cook
Cook and I was thinking Kemp since he was one of Toub’s favorites.
1 and a half minutes of pure Ukrainian bliss
those look bigger than an American PT boat of WWII
Todd Haley is using “Hank Stram” as an audible? I didn’t know he cared
It was Pioli he had an issue with not the Chiefs.
As much of as an asshole Todd is, he was right about the Don
Question
At this moment, who do you think will play what spot at WR
X
Y
Z
and which RB will be the starter?
CEH will be the starting RB.
He has had two years to Carpe Diem, that has not happened
He is getting the incumbent benefit of the doubt that Andy likes to give.
I think the narrative surrounding CEH has been pretty interesting. People loved Darrel Williams over him in spite of the fact that CEH was a more efficient runner.
CEH
question
what is the Chiefs Nickle D going to be?
does the Nose or the Sam backer come off the field?
prolly SAM if it’s the new kid
you don’t think he can provide more pressure in a passing situation than the Nose?
hell, I dunno … just a guess
I have a feeling Chenal is going to be a 6 sack guy. His strength is blitzing and that is never a bad thing.
Chenal lined up as a nose tackle against Iowa and was manhandling Linderbaum all game. My guess is he could actually see some time as a pure pass rusher.
there we go!!!!
I experienced this years ago in San Mateo, Ca. Driving with a friend at night, and there was green streak in the sky. Started out of nowhere, went straight across the sky, then very quickly and jaggedly shot upward and was gone, into apparently nothing. We both saw it and described it the same, so drug use was ruled out. The next day, we heard that there was a minor earthquake and a bit of research years later told us this can happen. It was very strange
Science is conservative by nature, but facts and evidence always win out, in the long run. The media tends to make it seem otherwise, as with the “controversies” over eggs and butter, where the science never really changed in the dramatic fashion that newsreaders and journalists made it out to be.
But they’re still skeptical about eyewitness reports, and rightly so. Thus, for years high-altitude pilots reported lightning-like lights above the clouds, only to have their reports fall on seemingly deaf ears. Once the tech developed enough to provide evidence, well, science now knows them as sprites, and the study of them began.
so confusing
I am going to turn 60 and was born in 1962
who are these people that want to return America to the 1950’s?
I was born the same year. not sure what you are talking about – no one wants to go back to the 50s, but, I can say that what I’m seeing of the recent 2020’s isn’t impressive. rampant crime, no one goes to jail, or is let out to kill some more.. People going into stores and taking whatever they want and the police can’t do anything about it… Murders in the cities are setting records. I have a hard time calling that progress. After the 2020 super bowl things went south! Lets hope the Chiefs help get things back on track.
well
poverty is a huge problem as far as KC goes, I go in the city all the time, homelessness is rampant, but I find friendly people everywhere, working hard
I’ve never had the opportunity to visit the city. I think poverty is probably one of the toughest situations for anyone to solve. Poverty has a large number of causes, so no easy fix. I think its common to all large cities, not just KC.
them that has shall get … still true
them’s that got the gold make the rules…
Just a thought
you know, there are some people that live their whole lives insulated to the good life. They have no idea what silver spoons they were given at birth…..
The term people use for that is “Privilege”, and people like me have had it for a while. No silver spoon, to be sure, but if I think abut all the advantages I got simply by being born into the right type of family (not rich or even well off, but very stable) it is amazing
Maybe me as well
But nothing was given to me, I earned it, accumulated it, and spent it mostly wisely
far wiser than myself … I done screwed up (and borrowed my own money) … so it goes
Same, but it’s not the “things” that make you and I privileged, it’s the fact that we had no built in road blocks in our way. Lots of people had it better than I did, but unless I screwed things up badly, I was going to be pretty well off. An accident of birth.
this
gas is up a lil bit more than it was coupla weeks ago, thing that riles me the most is that Big Oil doesn’t NEED it be that costly
when the shit hit the fan a month ago, went up a quarter to $4, today it’s at $4.30 (higher in the mountains, I think about $4 in Denver metro area) but the folks working at the gas stations don’t get more salary, and the station owners don’t make much on gas itself … Big Oil does, and that’s who reported record profits for the last coupla months
people need good jobs (most have long since been shipped off overseas) … not “service economy” low-level jobs, but real jobs
The fuel prices really hit the trucking industry and that trickles down to everything, not just us driving to the store…
yup, it’s vicious cycle and those on the bottom pay the most (in terms of % of income) … the folks at the top? they don’t give a rat’s ass
agree
a rounding error on their bank statement
to get good jobs you have to get a good education, BUT
you take on a huge amount of debt to pay for that college and if you don’t graduate…. You just have a huge debt and not the income to pay for it
even if you DO graduate you often end up in that situation
I was lucky
I choose to serve and got a Ass degree without any debt,,,,
The thing is that I went to college paid for it myself and had no debt, working full time while doing it. So did my kids. Then there are people that think they have to get a degree from the super high dollar private schools, take out loans, and get a degree that’s useless. Then they want loan forgiveness.
the game of life
tuitions have massively increased across the board.
Education (state at least), healthcare and prisons should not be for profit operations.
But the reason tuitions have massively increased is due to governmental policy decisions, usually involving unions.
It doesn’t help that the PS K-12 system is more interested in socializing kids than educating them, and educational unions care more about preserving the system than serving the public. That’s all the result of government being the sole option, always trying to produce the same results across the graduates.
Now, tell me again that education should be the sole province of the government that can’t educate kids at all well.
Never said it should be exclusively gov’t province, just gov’t provided should not be profit driven.
The others are institutional inertia, and that is a problem, no easy or cheap fixes.
both can be true
You excluded all for-profit schools, so leaving religious schools aside, that language restricts education to the gov’t.
I fully agree with you WRT private prisons, that experiment’s failed, but gov’t-run prisons aren’t much better. I have thoughts regarding reform with all three, but nobody much likes them.
our wires are crossed, I think. I’m only referring to state run schools
That’s why I talked about the language you used in my previous comment. What you meant and what you said didn’t line up quite right.
Still, I’ll stand by this much, given how poor gov’t-run K-12s are, I don’t trust it to be the primary provider of medical care. I’m in the VA system, which works just about as well as a K-12. Just last week I found out that the VA is denying that they’d issued me the CPAP they issued me back in KS, and thus are demanding I take a long trip to do a sleep study before they’ll send me a new set of accessories for it, as they’d been doing for years.
That’s what gov’t health “care” means to me.
My phrasing was lazy (you still understood), it’s tuesday, i do not disagree
…they also live on those loans, rent, car payments, food etc…..it’s more than tuition and books being paid for.
* no one wants to go back to the 50s.
Could not disagree more
*no one goes to jail
will disregard as hyperbole
murder rates is a complex issue I’m not prepared to tackle, nor have the inclination this evening.
Things are fucked up and no one seems to offer solutions/remediations, for years now on both sides, or block anything to appease whichever base they need for an election cycle. We are broken.
Russia is broken
Surrender is not an option in America
NUTS
Its not hyperbole. we now have no bail and prosecutors that won’t prosecute. Shoplifters are free to take whatever they want and be videotaped doing it. many of the murders that are happening are committed by people released from jail for other violent crimes. Anyways, I guess we are going political now, so I’m out. Have a good night everyone!
Well you made the points, but agreed, not going down the rabbit hole tonight.
(I’m curious about prosecutorial rates and % of murders by released violent criminals, a link would be nice. another hole for another day)
The Far Right for the most part …
Happy Days was not really real
thinking of West Side Story and
I’m here, where are my cookies?
just got deposited on your smart device
ha! fooled you … I’m on an OLD desktop (Win 7)
I need one of those!!!!
the post by tadream earlier was awesome … I think he’s 100% spot-on on both sides of the ball
I guess I get to crawl up on top of Jess and Jim’s steakhouse tomorrow.
I shall plan that for around lunchtime and get one of those huge baked potatoes
yum yum
don’t fall thru the roof (unless it’s by design)
Did I tell you I was tasked with removing the Sat equipment from on top of Gates on Main Street?
you must’ve gone crazy from the aroma wafting up from the pits …
I got the dish and it smelled awesome in the van for a week
the mount? was sealed by years of smoke to the roof!!!!
LOL … took awhile to pry it off, huh?
it is still there 🙂
ha!
The nice thing about Win 7 is no one is writing viruses for it anymore!
what I need is a 16 bit machine and a win system to run on it
I got 100’s of dollars of video games I want to play
why won’t they run on your current system?
it’s probably too advanced
There are programs around that let you run older games on new machines. Not that I’d admit to it, but I might occasionally play some old games on my computer…
sandbox?
depends on the games. I remember Dosbox as one of them
that’s it!
LOL … well see? my system is SAFE 😉
There may be some old hackers in a nursing home still writing some viruses for it…
