Analysis

The Chiefs’ Tommy Townsend finally got some work this week, but those punts tumbled him down the list. Now he’s merely average.

Denver’s Martin takes the top spot, which honestly should be expected given the thin Colorado air making it easier for those punts to carry. But the Broncos need him to do well, as their subpar offense has led him to punting more than just about anybody else.

And at the bottom, yet again, is Jacksonville’s Cooke. They just need to commit to the tank at this point, and the punting game is doing its part.

Can this correlate to draft value? So if you were thinking about drafting a punter, and you anticipated him becoming say the 10th best punter in the league, then could you calculate the corresponding position on a draft value chart?
