The Chiefs Top 100 List

Not New News – The NFL puts out a top 100 list voted on by the players every year. Well we are told its voted on by the players but there’s been some talk that the list is a little doctored…. but that’s not why I’m here today. Today we talk about the Champs of the world.  Que the Queen!

This year, even with the Covid nonsense they managed to get this list done. Which if I’m being honest is great, cuz I need … heck we all need ANYTHING SPORTS right now.  And any chance to see our beloved Chiefs in any kind of a new light/way is a blessing.
Anyways, I wanted to pile together the select few Chiefs that made the list into one spot so you can easily access them and also watch them on repeat. Or maybe that’ll just be me. On with the Show.

First up, Frank the Shark Clark.

Lower than he was last year but due to his injury and lack of dominance early in the season, you can kinda understand the slide.

Next up, We got the CEO, President, and Creator of Sack Nation Chris Jones.

Chris also slid down the list this year… Not sure why such a drop off. I guess its maybe the sack total drop off from the year prior. It sure wasn’t his play or effort. Chris Continues to Beast.

One of the few guaranteed Chiefs we all knew would be on this list, Tyrann Mathieu the Honeybadger.

The badger jumped back onto the list after somehow not making the list the year prior with the Texans. When healthy, Tyrann is one of the best hybrid safeties in the game.

The one, the only CHEETAH

Tyreek had the goal of being number one on this list, and maybe he might be one day, but this year ain’t it. He comes in at 22 which is basically what he was last year. Regardless of not getting that number 1 spot, the mighty Cheetah remains a terror for other teams not named the Chiefs.

A Chief that needs no introduction. The Best TE in the game and Dare I say the Best TE in Chiefs history. The one they call Zeus, Travis Kelce.

Like his brother from another mother, Tyreek, Kelce comes in just about where he was last year. He should have been placed higher on this list, I’m thinking around spot 7 ….. but that’s for another day. Travis is arguably my favorite Chief… so much personality plus elite play. I hope he stays in KC his whole career.

Saving the Best for last, or number 4… Saint Patrick Mahomes.

What Can I say here… he was number 4 last year, he’s number 4 again this year. I have no doubt Pat wants to be number 1, because these are his peers and it matters. If the NFL wants to give Pat more ammo to be better than we was in 2019 by all means… go ahead. It’s your funeral.

***Update… I checked Twitter and Mahomes had this to say.***

Defenses are so screwed.

That will wrap it up for our Chiefs. I definitely feel at least 1 Chief (peep that feature picture) got left off this list and its a crime. Speaking of crimes on this list… I might, may, IDK if I will have time so get off my back about it, make a “what the heck were these players NFL execs thinking” list to follow. We shall see.

Florio and Simms provide some insight as to the flaws of the voting system in the video below, but the biggest one is the timing, since they do it mid-season.

Twitter is even stupider. The number of people claiming that Mahomes isn’t even a top 10 QB, let alone player, is hilarious.

Florio’s actually tolerable and informative here. Quick, someone check out the Apocalypse stable and make sure all four are still there!

No Mitch at all, and Pat at four? I mean, I knew these guys weren’t all Mensa candidates, but damn.

No Mitch didn’t stun me. The big uglies don’t get love on these lists. How many OL are on the list total?

Nothing should stun as much as the already GOAT being snubbed

snubbed? who??? what?????

Brady was on the list … not only was he NOT snubbed, he was WAY too high (LOL, to be fair Brady shouldn’t even be on the Top 100 and no, he isn’t “The Goat”)

anyway, yer talkin’ about Mahomes and it’s a wee bit early to proclaim him “best ever of all and everyone forever” after 2 yrs (I consider 2017 to be his “redshirt” season [but all Chiefs rookies have a “redshirt” season {SWIDT}]) but he’s certainly the best thing we’ve seen in awhile (has JC25 been gone THAT long? what about DJ? Willie Lanier, Bobby Bell …)

GOAT … so many people in such different circumstances, and that doesn’t count the issue of “GOAT of what?” of QBs? of all of the NFL? of any sport ever played?

EDIT: a good BR cancel-culture Top 100 Re-Do (about a dozen players or so) … the guy has Mahomes re-ranked at #2, and for real, his Hot Taek on Brady is worth the read by itself

yeah, for years I always thought Johnny Unitas … then too Jim Brown … Bill Russell, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Bird or Magic the eternal question, then Jordan … wait, there’s Gretzky and hold on … Simone Biles just called and said “hold my beer”

Oh I was leaving olympic sports out what the hell was I thinking. Simone Biles made gymnastics cooler than anyone has ever made it damn she was badass to watch just tear up the competition. Now that you brought up Olympic sports Michael Phelps has to lead the list, but I would have Russell very close

Bill Russell is also hard to argue and as much as I’d like to say system QB Brady has proved to be able to capitalize on his position better than any other Football player ever.

Good luck NFL. Patrick is taking notes from Michael Jordan and unlike Jordan he doesn’t need to manufacture slights to get motivated.

Yup. How can he be left off the list? Cue Supertramp’s Crime of the Century.

I’d bet Von Miller had him in his top 10..

That’s the thing, who would vote for a right tackle (other than other OL) unless you’re an edge rusher in our division? Considering the salty ass players in our division, save maybe von miller, I wouldnt expect mitch to get many votes.

When they did the list of “those that just missed”, basically 101-110, I thought for sure that Mitch would be on that list, but he didn’t even get into the top 110. There were more head-scratchers this year than I can recall from the past few.

These lists are biased towards skill positions on offense. How many OL were there in total on the list? They constitute 44% of offensive players at any time but I doubt they account for even 10% of the offensive players on the list
