Saturday O/T: Afternoon To Afternight
114 repliesEven if you’ve got a Saturday night special lined up, there’s still time available to converse with fellow fans. Here’s the place for it.
Here’s another selection of diversions and distractions, but the real content will be the contributions of the willing.
It’s your OT, use it wisely.
With that, time’s yours.
I have a fantasy roster that has been completely pathetic at WR for me. Everyone keeps getting hurt.
I just picked up Hinton from the Broncos because Yahoo still has him listed as a WR. Maybe he can throw for a TD and get me some rushing yardage.
I dumped all my broncos…all are garbage. Including judy & fent
I’m sure Clark Hunt has INCREASED the # of peeps cleaning & sterilization of any surfaces
PLUS watch the sidelines or during Time Out of any game…I keep seeing the SAME SHIT. Players drinking out of SAME bottles.
Hopefully SOMEONE has a brain…and gives Players those tiny water or Gatorade bottles…ONE Person drinks & toss that clucking bottle away.
But what about the environment?
Paper cups..
Anything other than same bottle
I noticed the last game everybody was using throwaway small bottles of water, so no sharing of water bottles. Not sure when that started but I definitely noticed it last week
Watching undercard PPV boxing matches
Main event
Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr
All for charity
if thats a for real fight Tyson will kill him. You might be paying to witness a murder. Jones simply isnt big enough to be in the ring with a man like Tyson. It could be really really ugly to watch
Stephen A Smith on ESPN…said the same.
Tonight match is for charity & plan on wearing 12 oz gloves. But Tyson is a beast @ 54 years old
they could put on bedpillows and if Tyson ever actually hits Jones you might be seeing Jones ability to wipe his own ass bo wiped out forever.
Is it wrong that I cant stop laughing at how bad the NFL is fucking the Donks, after they bent over and took a huge pegging trying to save the Ravens chances to make the playoffs? I would kill to have a mic in the room when Elway got that call that said they have to play with nobody from the QB room on the field. Greatest fucking over of a team in the history of professional sports. Payback for the bogus Lombardis maybe?
I believe the NFL only moved the Ravens because they kept having positive test results. If the Broncos have a positive tomorrow, I bet they postpone the game.
Local Broncos peeps are pissed off
Good thing for NFL Sunday Tix..
So I dont have to watch that SlobberKnocker
Wow, the people at MHR are clearly delusional? 50/50? LOL thats hilarious
Even at full strength (including Von Miller, et all) these games looked like 50-50 bets at most.
Looking forward to the Broncos game more than our own now.
I’d think they would move it to give at least one of the QBs time to test negative. Makes me think the donkies were offered and declined. Saints D/ST in two leagues. I’m ok with this 🙂
Will their WR/QB throw for more yards than Tebow’s average per game?
Will this be the first game in NFL history where 0 QBs take a snap?
no because the Ravens have had plenty of games without one and then the aforementioned Tebow led Broncos
Missed out on the first two, but here’s my forecast on the remaining road winners: Browns, Phins, Phaders, Saints, Seahawks, and Chiefs, of course. My one too-close-to-call is Cards at Pats. The Cards have the better team, but Gillette seems to have a +6 HFA (for some strange reason), where the norm is +3. Also, they’ll have a warm-weather indoor QB playing outside in the cold, and Hoodie is very good at confusing young QBs. So it’s nothing big to speak to a reason that the Cards aren’t a solid candidate, it’s a bunch of smaller things.
I’d smile if AZ proved me wrong, though.
Great album overshadowed by the big hit.
Underrated song, too.
and
as well But i won’t disagee if you said no,
i like them.
oh, and BRaG, if/when yer around: you really coulda just left well enough alone with the SALMON (really, that was a wonderful post and some awesome threads, and SALMON can always get us into the afternight, even if it’s Leftover SALMON)
have I mentioned lately how much I love SALMON? I do, I really, really do love SALMON
(hope you love SALMON, too!)
according to their website, the Swiss Top Secret Drum Corps has played in 1,285 shows and used 12,184 sticks … that’s a lotta drumsticks
https://www.topsecretdrumcorps.com/
Today I saw a video of a guy running on a trail in Switzerland. It’s now officially my #1 place I want to visit. Someday.
snow and mountains snow and mountains
Yep. Sounds perfect.
And lakes.
And hot blonde chicks……

you just HAD to go and spoil “the moment” dincha …
😉
I hope you make it. You will … someday.

What did I do? Not introduce you to Sam & Ella?
I can see it now, he goes out and has a big game and Elway gives him a big contract to be the next QB.
How tall is he?
I actually want to watch this game tomorrow
Unfortunately it’s at the same time as the Chiefs, I’m going to make sure to watch it on gamepass.
Donkey punch.
Please let him do a Bugs Bunny pass to himself.
Broncos’ Lock, Rypien, Bortles not allowed to play in Week 12; QBs were evaluated following Jeff Driskel’s positive COVID-19 test
Local Broncos talk radio…goings nuts. Lol
Oh yeah, and no more home games for the 49ers for a while.
I wonder where they’ll end up playing those. Sucks for them, but since so many people keep insisting that masks and precautions do nothing to stop the spread diseases, it’s the price they are willing to pay. As long as they don’t catch it, of course.
I shared an article about the effectiveness of wearing masks and social distancing, and how the relaxation of those practices resulted in surges of new cases. It was a look at the “Spanish” flu epidemic, and an awful lot of people died from it, because influenza is no joke. It’s a serious, dangerous disease.
The coliseum is free right now
They could build a Lego Coliseum for $600 according to the article Ups linked.
LOL…….. F’n California
A county, not a state
While true, if the 49ers are forced to play all their games on the road for the rest of the year, that is a pretty good chunk of taxes the state won’t get.
CA doesnt need to collect state taxes. Nancy is going to negotiate them a yuge bailout.
This is why following covid protocol is important.
Freeman’s as good as anyone else on the roster … or off the roster, for that matter
hey now, I’d bet that Elway could still manage to hand the ball off to the RB du Jour
That’s good that they aren’t forfeiting. They didn’t take the proper precautions and now they should have to deal with the repercussions of that. Feel the same about the Ravens.
Some might say that a Broncos team without QBs is basically harkening back to every Broncos’ team for the last 7 years or so. Even though they had guys listed as QBs, they sure were playing like they were out of position…
Srsly, I hope they all get well and have no lingering issues.
I hope they all get well and have no lingering issue
ditto!
have a wreck, young’n!

With us playing Tom tomorrow, I would like to give credit to his Superbowl wins. Pat is coming for him though.
MMI
We’re seeing a change of the guard… swapping out the old with PM2.
Fascinating story about Abraham Lincoln as a true crime writer – writing about a particularly interesting case he defended while he was practicing law in Illinois.
https://getpocket.com/explore/item/abraham-lincoln-true-crime-writer?utm_source=pocket-newtab
I’ve been to his Indiana home, his presidential library/museum, his tomb, and the office where he practiced law. If you’re ever passing through the non-Chicago part of Illinois, I recommend old Springfield highly.
A good book I read on Lincoln was about his speech at Cooper Union that led to Lincoln becoming the Republican nominee. I highly recommend it.
I may have to check that one out. Thanks for that.
The movie that came out not long ago (2013?) was also pretty good, if a bit slow moving.
The one where he killed vampires? Just kidding
That was actually pretty good…..
I imagine you guys in the KC area have heard the Helzberg diamond commercial with Mahomes and thought nothing of it, but I’m in DC. It’s a radio commercial & usually those are done with local “stars”. Here, no idea who that would be for the Football Team (certainly not Haskins), but we’re close enough that Lamar Jackson would not have surprised me. But Patrick? On my radio? It was very odd the first time it came over. He’s going full Peyton Manning & I’m OK with that.
I am sure having a very recognizable voice helps him in becoming a national radio ad star.
Not to mention his easy-going personality in TV commercials having already gained widespread appeal.
I’m sure both of these, plus his squeaky clean persona, help. It was just very odd to hear an ad with Mahomes on DC radio. I can’t remember ever hearing an out of market star hawk stuff on the radio. Never heard Manning, Rodgers, or anyone else. Strictly the local guy, whoever that was.
More chatter on the twits about where Bieniemy’s best option would be next season. That’s mostly been about QBs vs ownership, but since I’m a contrary cuss, my take is that he should go with the offer attached to the best GM to head the personnel side – and have his back WRT ownership. Watson may be tempting, but BoB wasn’t in a position to mess that team up without the involvement of ownership. The Jets (though Gase is still in) don’t really make that cut, either.
A lot of people think Detroit’s a bad fit, but from what I understand the Ford family is more neglectful and indifferent than meddlesome – and they clearly have some patience, too. That’s been the Reid model since he got to KC; get a QB you can build around and start looking for a replacement while you assemble the offense. A veteran DC would help, too, as he gains experience in running the team.
To me it’s the Jets or Jaguars. It’s so hard to win the Super Bowl if you don’t have a QB on a rookie deal, and those places you’ll get 5 years of a top 2 pick on that cheap deal. Watson will be expensive after next year, Stafford and Ryan are already expensive.
The Jags? Perhaps, but he’s still gonna need a good GM to work with, and while Stafford might not be top-tier, I think he could conceivably fill the role Alex Smith did with us, since Smith wasn’t on a cheap rookie deal, either. Depends on the contract, of course, but a year or two with Stafford to get his offensive scheme established, possibly while grooming his replacement after the first season.
Trying to build his system from the ground up while training a rookie QB to run it at the same time is a task that’s taller than either of the two done separately. I get what you’re saying about draft picks, but drafting great talent means less if you can’t establish a system they can have success in. That’s just begging for coordination & communication problems. A steady if unspectacular vet’s a real assets, under those circumstances, as long as he buys into the sceme.
I am thinking Atlanta would be a good spot for him. They seem to lack toughness and that is something Bienemy can fix with his left boot.
That’s a good thought, too. If Ryan’s still under contract, he could act as EB’s AS11 stand-in. He’s not the passer he once was, but he’s not reckless or anything. He might welcome a system that took a lot of pressure off him while giving him some weapons to work with, even though it would put him in the twilight of his stay there. Give him a chance to retire with a good season or two to close things out, maybe even get to the playoffs.
Then he should let Spags borrow it for a while.
right?
