says who? I agree, Trans people should be allowed to own guns. But what if Ron Desantis is in charge? What constitutes a mental illness and what doesn’t? Should everyone be required to undergo a pysch evaluation ? If so, who decides what is mentally ill?

regardless of who you vote for, I don’t want some bureaucrat deciding if I can own a gun or not . Whether I am trans, MAGA, communist, alt right or whatever…. These labels can be easily abused in terms of what a mental illness is or not. Remember, the DSM 4 still labeled homosexuality as a mental illness
seems to me “wanting to shoot a whole bunch of people for no real reason” should qualify for “mentally ill” … regardless of what the DSM 4 says
after all, science is an ever-changing thing … and think about it: what’s the “federal classification” of Marijuana been for years and years and years (innocuous as it actually is, esp compared to Alcohol)
as for 2nd Amendment … nobody thought about “assault style” weapons way back when because they didn’t exist (of course at the time, only white men who owned land were actually allowed to own guns at all because nobody was very woke at the time)
“guns” aren’t “the issue” as much as “ridiculously unnecessary guns” are the issue (I have zero issue with ANYONE who wants to own a musket and go hunting … none whatsoever!)

sadly, science / technology have given us insane weapons that we (Mankind) doesn’t really need but has anyway … personally I don’t see that as a particularly “good” thing
