The draft continues, having starting at 6 pm Arrowhead time. The Chiefs d two 2nd round picks, but after trading back, we will have to wait 41 picks from #62 to our next pick at the end of the 3rd at #103.

Unless they don’t think they can count on Gay for some reason…he has been injured…but, damn. Giving up a chance at a DE to improve on Clark or un-signed Ingram, just in case Gay gets injured again? Damn.
SCOUTING REPORT: SUMMARYLeo Chenal has developed into an elite dominator for Wisconsin who is equally talented as a run defender and a power pass rusher. He has incredible potential as an outside linebacker at the next level who given he used in a system that suits his skills could quickly become a pro bowl level performer. He needs to be used correctly and if played as a middle or inside linebacker with coverage responsibilities could easily disappoint. We are higher on him than most and rate him as a high second-round pick in the coming 2022 NFL Draft. We’re convinced the rest of the scouting community will likely see what we see especially after he puts on a show at the combine.
I just…Well, it’s an empty pick. I’m just going to pretend we didn’t have this pick in the first place, count this MLB/special teamer as a good UDFA signing, and be happy about the rest of the draft.
Forgot they signed a LB in FA. Makes the pick even more odd.

Little bit scary.
Seems good so far, if even a couple of the late round pick become contributors, depth upgrade or trade bait later on…
LFG!
Chiefs still need pass rush. I’m getting a bit antsy. They have not fixed that glaring problem.
It’s ridiculous. And here I was worried they’d neglect WR. Turns out they picked their NUMBER ONE NEED to neglect instead.
And in such a DEEP DL draft too. Almost magical really.
So which LB gets the shaft when Chenal plays 1st and 2nd down?
Nobody, he won’t see the field except for special teams and maybe when Bolton or Gay get injured.
Seems like a wasted pick then.
why would we waste a pick?
CEH says hello
because Chiefs?
Because they made a mistake. It has happened.
Actually it happens several times every year, to every single team.
Maybe it was made by Toub.
If that was the case, they would have kept Sorensen.
Maybe it was Spags, then. Maybe to get him to let go of Sorensen, they had to promise him a LB that he could keep on the bench.
DD was good or very bad, now a year older, had to go.
disagree
I could see Chanel at Sam with Bolton at Mike and Gay at Will
damn that doesn’t work
Yeah, but even if you could get them to fit, nobody plays with 3 LBs on the field at once anymore.
So who are you going to bench for 85% of the time? Bolton, Gay, or our new 3rd-ish round pick?
Gay will ride the pine is my guess.
Great, the best playmaker and cover guy out of those three.
Didn’t he have a higher on-field percentage last season than both Bolton and Hitchens? Seems like I remember he did, at least at some point.
I don’t know. I DO know that Niemann took too many snaps from Bolton.
This is very true.

so we drafted a Sam LB 🙂
If we try to convert him to an edge rusher, that would be the only thing that salvages this pick.
With Engabare on the board, I dislike this pick a lot.
well Veach made the pick
seems that Chanel could stuff the run very well
not so much the shallow pass coverages

where is that from?

still searching
all I had was a good player and an age
They must be damn sure we’re re-signing Ingram
He might convert to DE
I was thinking the same…..does he have bend…
not really, a stiff. But you could bring him in in a 3 -4 package to get an extra pass rusher on the field. He does have scheme versitility
Our new Karlaftis doesn’t fit in a 3-4. I don’t see us going that direction this season.
WANTED WINFREY!
Yeah no shit. We should’ve gotten him. Or any other Dlineman for that matter.
Ugh. Why? He isn’t a coverage guy. Not sure what the plan is here.
Aaaaand there’s Steve’s LB. yay.

Nope. Got one

Miami’s pick is in! WE’RE UP!
Fuck, Jets got some good players.

I know, right. Strange to say they had a great draft so far
Jets draft is pretty damn good
There’s Ruckert
