Good morning AG!

Today in Chiefs’ history, we have two birthdays. Steve Bono was born in 1962, and Jeremy Maclin in 1988

Elsewhere, and we’re just going to get this out of the way now so you can go to the comments and enjoy the song, in 330, Constantine I dedicated Byzantium (Constantinople; now Istanbul) as the new capital of the Eastern Roman Empire, an act that helped transform it into a leading city of the world.

1997: IBM’s chess-playing computer Deep Blue defeated Garry Kasparov in the last game of a six-game match to claim a 3.5–2.5 victory (it won two games and had three draws); it marked the first time a current world champion had lost a match to a computer under tournament conditions.

1981: Bob Marley died of cancer at age 36.

1960; Some 14 years after escaping from a prison camp, former Nazi official Adolf Eichmann was captured by Israeli intelligence agents near Buenos Aires; he was later taken to Israel, where he was tried, convicted, and executed.

1910: Glacier National Park (One of the most beautiful spots in the world, IMO) was established in the Rocky Mountain wilderness of northwestern Montana.

1894: Railroad workers for the Pullman Palace Car Company went on strike

1888: Irving Berlin was born in Russia

Now, the news, including the “leaks” in the schedule…

Thanks so much for doing that. I have missed those. Also, I couldn’t agree with you more about Glacier. It’s probably our favorite National Park, and we’ve been to quite a few of them.

According to DraftKings Sportsbook, Kansas City is an early 7-point favorite over Detroit. There is no over/under point total just yet. However, the money line is -275 for the Chiefs, giving K.C. a 73.33% implied win probability. Kansas City finished the 2021 NFL season 5-11-1 against the spread, while Detroit finished 12-5.

(props to Allen – maybe he’s an “ok guy” after all)

Bills’ Josh Allen: Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes Is ‘Clear’ Top AFC QB over Himself, Burrow | Bleacher Report

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10075655-bills-josh-allen-chiefs-patrick-mahomes-is-clear-top-afc-qb-over-himself-burrow

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen thinks it’s a no-brainer that Patrick Mahomes is the best quarterback in the AFC.

“Until me or [Joe Burrow] or anybody else can win a Super Bowl, I think Pat’s kinda the clear No. 1 right now,” Allen said in response to a power ranking list of the top quarterbacks in the AFC on Kyle Brandt’s Basement, a list that had Mahomes in the top tier and Allen and Burrow in the second tier (22:20 mark). “He’s been playing at such a high level for so long. He’s got the rings to prove it.”
