1190 Third Crusade: Holy Roman Emperor Frederick I Barbarossa drowns while crossing the Saleph River (modern Turkey) leading an army to Jerusalem (serves him right)

With regard to Thomas Cromwell: a flippant “serves him right” is misplaced and does not apply – see the movie “A Man for All Seasons”.

Oops, my mistake, I was thinking of Sir Thomas More. I withdraw my critique, offer my apologies, and will slink off and deal with my surly mood of this morning otherwise – maybe dead-head some peonies and irises.

I am glad to hear that Rice has learned and will be maturing but I hope the Chiefs pass when it comes time for the 2nd contract. Let someone else take that risk.

Talk is cheap true repentance is shown through fruits. In other words time will tell if he is truly trying to mature or not. I’m not against keeping him if his words prove to be true. We all deserve an opportunity to learn and improve from our mistakes. I’m sure his behavior is going to effect his earning potential regardless of who he is playing for, if he is still playing.

If he goes and gets himself suspended, he doesn’t get paid. I’m sure there would be clauses in the contract too. There’s financial protections for the team against him continuing to be a bonehead. If he continues to develop into an upper tier WR AND stays out of trouble the next 2-3 years, they would be dumb not to extend him
