The NFL’s strength of schedule formula is based on the win-loss totals of each team from the previous season. But a lot has happened since week 18 of the 2021 season.
For one, AFC West teams made a flurry of big moves and the division is now considered the best in football, and it’s not even up for discussion.

With an injection of new talent arises plenty of new opportunities, but it’s extremely hard to argue that the Chiefs are a better team now than they were in January when their season ended. Is there improved depth and youth on the roster? Sure, but the star power and continuity are slim. Veach and company did a terrific job putting the franchise in a great position for long-term success, although it came at the cost of sacrificing that sense of short-term dominance over the rest of the conference.

As for where this goes next, I'd say the price will dictate that. Under current circumstances, unlikely KC or Buffalo go get him. If his price drops (both teams offered incentive-heavy deals), then ... maybe.

One thing to consider when declaring the AFC west the best division in football. Andy reid’s hc experience: 23 years. The rest of division combined: 3.
It’s the same every year.
They want to forget about future hall of fame coach Andy Reid, and it never works out for them.
