Know Your Chiefs – Trent McDuffie
8 repliesCamp is upon us, so BRaG must step up the use of these. But give me credit, I’ve striven to feature nothing but Chiefs content. That ain’t exactly easy.
Trent McDuffie was born on September 13, 2000, in Westminster, California. He attended high school at St. John Bosco in Bellflower, California. He was selected to attend the All-American Bowl after his senior year and was a member of the PrepStar top 150 dream team.
He chose to go to college at the University of Washington. As a true freshman, he played in all 13 games and was honorable mention as the Pac-12 Freshman Defensive Player of the Year. In 2020, he was named to the All-Pac-12 second team, starting every game.
In 2021, he was named to the All-Pac-12 first team. He was named the team’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player. He was chosen by the Chiefs in the 2022 draft in the first round.
[Ed: When a Bills fan likes this pick for us, it’s worth considering.]
The knock on this guy is that he can’t pass-block. But I don’t see why he would need to pass-block on RPOs.
Welcome to the kingdom..
I’m stoked to watch Ronald Jones play! I think he’s what we may have been missing last year (sorry, Darrell!). I think he’s like Darrell Williams but more explosive and a bit stronger.
He will terrorize the D between the tackles
Man, maybe I’m just getting too excited on my own Kool-Aid, but he is almost a mix of Kareem Hunt and Jamaal Charles. He’s got Hunt’s power and balance, and the speed to break long runs (not JC speed but still fast).
With our new O-line, he should be getting to the second level a lot, and that’s where he crushes defensive backs and turns big plays into huge plays.
Even without Tyreek, our offense could conceivably be better than last year.
OH , YEA…….
