Noah Ryan Gray was born on April 30, 1999 in Leominster, Massachusetts. His parents are Jason and Meagan Gray, and his father played hockey at Plymouth State University. He grew up in Gardner, Massachusetts and attended Leominster High School. He was a wide receiver as a freshman and became the team’s quarterback the following year. As a senior he moved back to wide receiver. He was a three star prospect coming out of high school.
He chose to play college at Duke, turning down offers from Temple and Appalachian State.
He played sparingly his freshman year but by the start of his senior year he was on the watch list for the Mackey award and one of the top tight end prospects for the NFL. He missed only one game his entire college career and was the team captain in 2020. He graduated from Duke with a degree in political science and a certificate in markets and management.
He was drafted by the Chiefs in the fifth round of the 2021 draft.
