Bryan Cook was born on September 7, 1999, in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he grew up and attended Mount Healthy High School in Mount healthy, Ohio. Sounds like a healthy place to go. As a senior, he was named first team All-Southwest Ohio Conference after recording 35 tackles, three interceptions and a fumble recovery in nine games on defense, as well as catching 4 passes for 110 yards and 3 TD’s on offense. Despite this, he was lightly recruited and took his only scholarship offer at Howard University.
He played cornerback there for two years. After his sophomore season, he entered the transfer portal and continued on to the University of Cincinnati. Per transfer rules, he sat out his first season there. During this time, he was moved from cornerback to safety. He had 96 tackles, five for loss, one sack, and 9 passes defended with two interceptions his senior year and was named to the first team All-American Athletic Conference.
He was drafted by the Chiefs in the second round of the 2022 draft.
