With The 18th Pick Of The AG Mock Draft The Dolphins Select:

Arrowhead Guys, making a mock of the mock since 2019.

The Miami Dolphins are the kings of acquiring picks and the 2021 1st round is no different.  With two picks in the round, they are attempting to build around Tua Tagovailoa and have already acquired Ja’Marr Chase to give Tua a bona fide WR1 on the outside.  All that speed and skill that Chase brings to the Miami offense is of little use if the Dolphins can’t keep Tua from counting stadium lights or running for his life.  Ugh…that sentence is just a name switch from causing serious anxiety and horrible flashbacks for Chiefs Kingdom.  The offensive line is a need for just about everyone in the league. Chiefs fans know this well, and the Dolphins are no different.  They need to protect their QB1 so that he has time to find his shiny new WR1.

With the 18th pick in the 2021 draft, the Miami Dolphins select OG/OT Alijah Vera-Tucker out of the University of Southern California.  The 6’4″, 300 pound Vera-Tucker slots as a guard, but has the ability to be successful at the tackle position should Miami choose to try his hand there.  As a versatile, athletic offensive lineman, he is just what the doctor ordered for a budding AFC power who is in need of protecting their franchise QB.

Luckily for KC there are about 8 OTs who could be quality starters in this draft.

My guess is we are all paying attention to the offensive linemen that are available, then when it comes time to make our picks in this mock, we are using our Chiefs glasses when making selections.

It would suck if it happens like this in real life, but we could get an outstanding defensive player.

In my research of Dolphins needs, OL was the biggest. They need to protect Tua. If they already drafted Chase, they had already addressed their other biggest need. That defense is pretty good, OL was the call here.
