Chiefs are trading six-time Pro-Bowl WR Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins for five draft picks: a 2022 1st-round pick (No. 29), a 2nd-round pick (No. 50) and a 4th-round pick, as well as 4th- and 6th-round picks in the 2023 draft, sources tell ESPN.

So I just re-posted a poem about Tyreek. A tribute. Kind of bummed but glad he got to play for us for as long as he did. Won’t ever forget Tyreek, “Do we have time for Wasp,” the 13-second Buffalo ender, the peace signs after beating DBs, and too many other memories to mention.

ok, so … if $$$ talks, let’s take a look at the Highest Paid Players by position and see what kind of football team of THE BEST OF THE BEST we can build for gonzangkc11 & pam (when only THE BEST will do, but you gotta pay for it!)
QB – Rodgers $50M (ok, you can keep Mahomes at the same price)
RB – McCafferey $16M (running total 56M)
WR – Hill $30M & Adams $28.5M (114.5M)
TE – Kittle $15M (131M)
OT – Williams & Bakhatiari $23M each (160.5M)
OG – Scherff $16.5 & Teller $14M (180M)
C – – Ragnow $13.5M (193M)
DT – Donald 22 & Buckner 16M (231M)
DE – Garrett 25M & Crosby 23.5M (279.5)
LB – Watt 28M Bosa 27M Mack 23.5M (358M)
CB – Ramsey 21M & Humphrey OR Lattimore $19.5 (398.5M)
S – – Adams 17.5M & Smith 16M (until Honey Badger Don’t Care 432M)
then add K & P & Long Snapper and a $5M FB
approximately $450M
brought to you by WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY THE FUCK OVER THE CAP (dot) COM
🙂 🙂 🙂
Your three LBs are actually edge rushers. So you kinda built a 4-3 with 5 DEs and no LBs.
Over the shock. Thinking now we should have cut or traded Clark and paid Tyreek instead. Would much rather have Tyreek than Clark.
would rather have the Hill deal AND made Clark a June 1 cut and save that much more in Cap Space Hell (and would have allowed him to seek out a trade with the understanding that he WOULD be cut June 1st for maximum cap savings, so any trade would have to factor that in)
I guess. It’s the end of an era, no doubt. Wondering what defensive changes we’re going to face next year because Tyreek will be gone.
that’s the beauty of it all … the uncertainty of what the other team will do, and what our own team will do … that’s why they play the games
and yet, it’s still The Mahomes Era, so there’s that (and Reid Era and Veach Era)
I don’t want to pay any WR $30 million per year.
Yeah. That’s what happens when you pay Pat what we did. We start going the way of Green Bay and Aaron Rodgers. We will have to play with more young players. Which isn’t bad when you Belichick the value out of them and trade them when the value is high. Hope we draft well. This year the draft seems to be stacked with exceptional receivers so it’s nice to need WRs this year AND have a lot of picks to get them with.
I overrationalize things a lot. But tying up 15% of the teams salary cap space to somebody that might touch the ball 6 times per game is extremely hard to swallow.
Give 7.5% of the cap to two different players and I think your offense would be just as good if not better.
Imagine Kelce, JuJu, Allen Robinson, and Robert Woods could all be on our team if we traded Tyreek a week ago.
There was no way, none, that they were giving him $30M/yr. Miami did, that’s fine. I don’t think both their QBs together make $30M. It just wasn’t going to happen
It looks like we’re only paying Clark about $1.2 million more than we would have paid in dead money to cut or trade him.
So, basically we’re getting Clark for $1.2 million this season.
Even if he is JAG now, it’s kinda tough to find even JAGs for that cheap.
Just got home from work. I hope everyone is past anger in the grieving process.
Or perhaps we can bundle those 1sts and throw in a 3rd to move up high enough in the 1st to grab that stud receiver from Bama that runs faster than reek
in other news …
FUCK PUTIN With 17 Pitchforks All At One Time
No excuses to not fix the defense
I expect to see a move from the Chiefs soon – We have the draft capital to use as trade bait whether in the draft or for a player. Metcalf would be a wet dream. I expect some low key signings to add some depth – surely a receiver.
Guessing it will be MVS and either Ronald Jones or bring back McKinnon.

30. Kaiir Elam, CB, Florida (CB6)
31. Daniel Faalele, OT, Minnesota (OT5)
32. Logan Hall, DL, Houston (DL3)
Presuming this is a value ranking of top players, rather than who will draft whom, sitting at 29 and 30 does raise a conundrum, as Spags’ system doesn’t need an elite CB out in coverage. A highly-ranked DL would be a welcome asset, but perhaps 30 is better packaged with a later pick, to move up to 23 or 24.
Of course, like all pre-draft stuff, this is all sheer speculation, but for the above, I treated it as real in order to play along.
I have a little crush on DE Boye Mafe. Hoping he slides a little to us.
Then take whatever receiver slides (Olave preferably).
Boye Mafe and Devonte Wyatt and Christian Watson – I like all these guys.
IF Chiefs invest in a RT and a decent running back, we can run our way to at least ten wins.
Did Andy retire? LOL
someone dreamed him dead…..
Distracted with a cheeseburger
didn’t get his MDA of Chocolate Cake
this^^^
CEH says hello ? ☺
We need to keep CEH, draft Robert Allondre, sign Alan Eagle, and add Paul Regario. Wait – we still would have CRAP.
Carl? Carl Peterson, is that you?
The best move that the Chiefs have made is letting DRob go to the Raiders – HA HA HA HA HA HA
Kinda wish this Tyreek stuff happened a few days ago so we could of brought back Pringle.
Well Miami
you just fed the monster
money and picks
WE GOT THIS!!!!!
wondering, we need RT … could Trey Smith bump outside if we found a once in a lifetime Guard? there’s this kid named DeCaaaaaaaaaaaassssstttttrooooooooo …
RT is actually a position I’d still like to address in FA, especially now that we have tons of cap space. I’m still hopeful about Niang but you shouldn’t rely on hope.
I think Niang is a pipe dream at this point.
Yeah – not placing money on him becoming the man.
I’ll smoke to that …
Look at the bright side, he’ll never drop a pass.
Like a certain receiver we all know
you be nice: Robinson is already gone 😉
So, is the rule that OLs who don’t dominate in their rookie season or incur an injury in that season are busts?
I know that’s not what you said, but that’s what your words about Niang mean. Fisher took more than one season to develop, and he’s far from alone. Now, I admit that he may not work out, but considering his rocky entry into the NFL and small statistical sample, it’s too early to say anything for certain.
He was injured in college, he was off many teams boards entirely due to the nature of that injury, he sat out a year because of the college injury, he was injured again twice for extended time last year. I’m not seeing him as having the best ability; availability.
I agree with you about availability, but he only sat out in part because of his injury. Covid was a real concern, too.
Absent Covid, what would have normally happened was he’d have showed up at the team facilities for rehab training with a top-flight staff, and likely been on IR, formally or not. When, or even if he’d play that season would be an open question, but he’d have access to much more than he did. I’m certain that would have been his preference, because how better to rehab his hip? So Covid played a significant part, but sitting out likely hampered his rehab, since he was cut off from those facilities, and living on a limited advance on his contract.
Finally, lineman get hurt, which is what make players like Schwartz so remarkable. Injuries can happen at any time, there is no schedule. Between the small sample size, there’s nothing to base anything on. Sure, you can go with a gut feeling, but the only time I do that is when I’ve eaten something that was off. To each…
FYI there is some messages for you way up in the admin chat that got burried under conversation (which surprisingly wasn’t about Hill).
I can’t claim to be knowledgeable about Niang and his real ability as a RT, but my leaky memory is that when we drafted him the talk around the Chief forums was that he was not a proven tackle, had a lot of the measurables as a physical “”specimen” but there was not anything concrete that said he was more than a “project.” So , he doesn’t play or play much early in his career then gets hurt and we cut Schwartz and the forums are suddenly filled with what seemed to me to be assumptions that Niang was a proven commodity at RT and only needs to stay or get healthy to be the guy at RT.
I may be wrong with my recollection, but that’s how it seemed to go as far as I recall. If I’m close to correct, then where is this body of evidence that proves he’s really a good RT? I hope he is, but what do we really know from what he’s done so far? Is he really a good RT from actual and convincing play? Maybe he is and I just haven’t paid attention (quite possible). If he isn’t really proven, I do think we should be sure we have what we need at that spot. His issues with injuries would seem to be a red flag as far as being comfortable relying on him. I do not want to go into this season with any iffy OL starters. IMO, we need to have the best OL in the NFL because we have the best QB in the NFL.
In all honesty, I’d ride with Wylie again. They need to figure out LT for a few years before dumping too much into RT.
Eric fisher played will @ RT

BUT CHIEFS ARE PLAYING
MONEYBALL
the A’s made that a dynasty …
WOW – Still trying to get used to the news.
hey Fox … it’s all good all the time, hope all’s well
Just got home from a sports banquet – we had no choice but gonna miss Tyreek.
very cool, hope ya had fun
he WAS entertaining, but that’s ridiculous $$$ and the TEAM is better off (I think) with the extra draft picks + $18.M cap space … good luck (‘Reek) and thanks for all the fish!
“oh no! we suck again”
It’s insane how much talk there is about this being the end of the Chiefs’ run. We’re still 3rd in the Super Bowl odds.
The offense will be different. Different might end up being “better” in a sense. In reality, the defense is what needed fixing this offseason. I fully expect them to compete for the West crown and be, at least, a wild card team.
this^^^
I think a more even dispersion of passes to the WR corp may make defending them more unpredictable.
I want the Oilers run and shoot in 2022
Warren Moon
and 1st for AFC West
For now…
We need a dominant Running game to let these new wr…get open & learn timing with 15
that’s what I’m saying!
get this DeCastro kid at RG and Trey Smith to the outside at RT … wooooot suey hell yeah 😉
a Creed Humphrey Clone!!!
ok, Willie Roaf 🙂
wait: Will Shields
Christian Okoye?
I like how you think …
The Kansas City Chiefs traded six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins for five draft picks: a 2022 first-round pick (No. 29), second-round pick (No. 50) and fourth-round pick, plus fourth- and sixth-round picks in the 2023 draft on Wednesday.
The trade is pending a physical, the Dolphins said.
The Dolphins also are giving Hill a four-year, $120 million extension, including $72.2 million guaranteed and also including $52.535 million at signing, agent Drew Rosenhaus told ESPN.
The deal makes Hill the highest-paid wide receiver in NFL history. The $72.2 million total becomes fully guaranteed at the start of the 2023 league year. The three-year total of the deal is $72.5 million.
For Hill, who was already under contract for the 2022 season, the overall total value of the deal — including the $120 million in new money — is $141.685 million. It also includes $250,000 in Pro Bowl incentives each season.
too think
If the Chiefs had decided to cut bait on him with the allegations…..
Where would he be now?
No SB
Where we would be
WASP
Only 1 wr puts fear in cb & safety
To run that route
And come back to under thrown ball
To make a play
pretty harsh
since Mahomes made us World Champions
We’ll soon find out …
If Patrick can win multiple SB with JAG @ wr & rb…like Brady did for years @ pats
My guess is NO WAY…Patrick wins 5 more sb with chiefs without a dominant wr. This new nfl is a WR league…
I have to admit
Patrick has not made any of his WR’s better…
unless they all sucked to begin with?
Hardman says hello. ?
Albert Wilson.
A flick of the wrist
my bad
I thought you were calling me an anglo 🙁
LOL … right?
sheeeeeeeeeeeeesh, $50M up front … must be nice
herewego
will we ever face tyreek hill as a dolphin?
When the Dolphins beat the Bills.
damn
friends of our enemies? or some such thing 🙂
It did occur to me that the only teams we hear about both directly compete with the Bills. Strengthen their competition, weaken our major road block?
The enemy of my enemy is my friend
Pay article, but the headline is damned interesting.
Can you give a summary?
I don’t have a subscription either, sorry. I wondered about that angle when he wouldn’t work with them during the 2021 season. I also noticed that Hill was not among the group at Mahomes’ bachelor party.
Hill was not among the group at Mahomes’ bachelor party
oh, that poor child!
(for the record: I wasn’t there, either)
doesn’t mean he was not invited
oh, one has to be INVITED?
So you’re saying that Mahomes wanted Reek gone? Mahomes hated Tyreek? It’s all clear now.
I said no such a thing … just heard it at some Pizza Place when the guy in next booth mentioned something about someone and “Hill to climb” or whatever it was
friction *yawn* drama *over it* wanted biggest WR $ ever and pretty much got it *ain’t nobody worth that*
1
Tyreek Hill
MIA
Davante Adams
LV
DeAndre Hopkins
ARI
WR$30,000,0002
WR$28,000,0003
WR$27,250,000
120 + 30 + 28 + 27.5 = $205.5M on four players
that’s stupid
Mahomes is getting 45 million and totally worth it 🙂
oh, true dat … PM15’s actual annual “value to franchise” is probably neighborhood of $3-$5B (total revenue) so sure, what’s $50M or so when you’re talking about “THE Franchise”
and none of them are qb’s
does this “trend” mean that WR’s are actually more valuable to a franchise than a QB? say it isn’t so!
It isn’t so.
FAKE NEWS
LIKE EB MEDIA STORY
Nate Taylor isn’t exactly a fake news kinda guy.
Wasn’t he one of the media talking heads…that jumped all over that FAKE EB STORY.
Doubtful, unless he was discussing the original article.
Yes he is. He isn’t malicious about it like many, but he absolutely plays the controversy=clicks game.
And then there’s this. Who is right???
Not him. Matty V has always had some ridiculous wrong teaks while pretending to be the ultimate chiefs insider. I would never trust anything he says.
“I’m told the Chiefs have not inquired about…”
What he really means:
“I have not been told that the Chiefs have inquired about…”
