March 31, 2022
In four weeks of combat, Russia may have lost 25 percent of its initial attacking force. These casualties are not on the scale of World War II but are large compared with the relatively small size of the Russian military today. Although reinforcements and replacements can offset some of these casualties, the loss of trained troops will impair military operations and eventually have a political effect.
Russian losses to date are high. NATO estimates that Russia has lost between 7,000 and 15,000 soldiers. Wounded who cannot rapidly return to duty generally number about twice the number of dead. That would mean that Russia has lost between 21,000 and 45,000 troops in four weeks of conflict. To put that into perspective, Russia reported 14,400 killed through 10 years of war in Afghanistan.
The initial invasion force numbered about 190,000 troops. However, that included militias in the Donbas and security forces (Rosgvardiya) for occupation.

I have heard the Russians have added 20 K more troops to the fight since mid April

Were there Anzacs in the Boer War?
https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSq7Qa8tiL_Ik7Zq2-xRWJHjAdKzlNwHiD_kedum8QxJg&s
It is estimated that about 16,000 Australians fought in the Boer War and there were about 600 casualties and deaths. Six Australian soldiers were decorated with a Victoria Cross. In our collection are some general records relating to the Boer War, such as regimental orders and photos of the NSW Bushmen’s Contingent.

My friend in Boston checks our site out regularly, and she finds our comments culture to be quite respectable. Kinda odd, striking up a friendship with a Pats fan from the Other Left Coast, and on Twitter, no less! Still, she’s a good friend, and enjoys AG, so I’ll take it.

I learn every day

Let’s Go Brandon” is a political slogan and Internet meme that has been used as a minced oath for “Fuck Joe Biden“, in reference to Joe Biden, the 46th president of the United States.
Chants of “Fuck Joe Biden” started being repeated at sporting events beginning in early September 2021. On October 2, 2021, during a televised interview of the Sparks 300 race winner Brandon Brown at Talladega Superspeedway, the NBC reporter Kelli Stavast misinterpreted the chant in the background as “Let’s Go Brandon”, which sparked the meme.[1] The slogan has become well known through use by Republican politicians and critics of Biden.[2][3] The phrase quickly spread to popular culture, with rap songs using the phrase placing high on record charts.

While this is true, the switch to direct democracy there means that the President, and thus the leadership of both Partys, isn’t answerable to organized voter blocs. They don’t have to have an actual platform to run on now, and policy has suffered. This extends to Congress by way of how campaigns are now run. It was a cultural shift, and IMNSHO it’s been a disaster – and now people are seriously arguing in favor of even more statistics-based elections!

Doubling down on an idea that has produced bad results is not a good way to get better results. PR gamesmanship is what direct democracy gives us, not sound policy platforms.

Its not homophobia. The bill Disney got wound up about is about not teaching all the crazy stuff going on to 8 year olds or younger, and the other part is why should disney be exempt from the government when no other business is. All these people complaining about it haven’t even seen what the bill is about.

pompano

They are not even subject to the law, they spoke in disagreement of it.
it’s about Billy not doing a show and tell about his 2 dads because the teachers cannot discuss such matters….the wording in the bill is very vauge on what is actionable which leaves the door wide open…

hoosierchief
Reply to  pompano
04/20/2022 7:56 pm

I think the part about disney not governing themselves may have been brewing for a while and this may have triggered it. I don’t think its safe for any company to regulate themselves. An entertainment business would be prudent to keep their nose out of politics and I was surprised disney was that dumb. It would only hurt them, as the last election showed, the population is pretty much evenly split on this stuff. Now they have half the population against them.
The law itself just says that they shouldnt be talking about all the sex stuff to 3rd graders or younger. The “don’t say gay” stuff the press came out with has nothing to do with it. Gay isn’t even mentioned in the bill. Just a case where the reporters decided to make more of something than it is. Instead of reporting, they are hyping stuff so they can get clicks and stir shit up.

Just another simplistic take that KC needs to add a small and fast WR since Hill is small short and fast.

Honestly, I may be over-reacting (which I NEVER do), but Mahomes’ comments about his WR practices lately has me kind of mentally removing receivers like Olave, Dotson, Moore etc from their draft board.

Olave is special. I like Dotson too.

We can’t have a WR squad of all short guys though like last year. Hill, Hardman, Pringle, and Robinson are all under 6’1.

Yeah, I’m not that enthusiastic about trading for Deebo. Unless it’s for, maybe our late 3rd at most. Would rather add a high-ceiling, cheap rookie to our current WR corps.

I mean, with Deebo’s complaining about his usage, he’s pretty much admitting that he’s already been getting beaten up, right? Seems like another Frank Clark situation.

He is an okay receiver, but a great offensive weapon.

2 problem:

1. He wants to be paid like an elite receiver.

2. He is most dangerous in the middle of the field where Kelce and JuJu do most of their damage. We need a boundary target.
