There is a huge part of the problem. Everything is focused on the woman. If they were saying “Ok, we’re outlawing abortion. So now, every baby will be supported by both parties. If together, then equally financially. If separately, the dad pays 75% unless he is the custodial parent. Then Mom pays 75%. The penalty for not meeting the required amount is 7 years in prison without parole.” then it’d be easier to take. But no. THis falls totally on women. And that’s total crap..

The prison system is actually worse than you imagine. It’s brutal, nearly untouched by the Constitution anymore, expensive, but most importantly, it’s ineffective. You may say “good riddance” to a category, but should someone sentenced to a dime die prematurely there? Anyone who exits the prison system and turns their life around is the extremely rare exception. Those who exit damaged too much to function are the rule. That’s the “fuck them” class, and they cause problems again.
Bonus: Look up Nutraloaf, which was designed to be the perfect prison meal.
there are lifers and there are many others that were screwed up and got mandatory sentences. therapy and addiction treatment could save many youngsters from habitual crime

my son was in contact with one of them recently, he lost his way and drugs earned him a 15 year federal sentence, he now has two degrees and could be a productive American worker?
