I realize the guy has more money than God & is probably looking for hobbies the team will let him do, but I really like how he’s investing in KC. The Royals, Sporting, Whataburger (I think). Gives me really good vibes that he’s here for a long time.

Have they announced beer pricing at the stadium yet? Trying to see how big a mortgage I’ll need to take out to afford a good buzz

Speaking of that. Globe Life Field in Texas charged my dad $27 for a vodka & cranberry juice. Probably a 16 Oz cup.

Taking Mahomes over Watson is turning out to be better and better.

Long is on the PUP list. Looks like he’s missing camp.

It’s not indicative, let alone definitive, but I do kinda wonder if he hadn’t recovered enough to return. These guys are well-advised medically, but they all eventually come to hear that clock ticking, so trying a bit too soon is possible. Indeed, it happens across the league, though not too frequently.

Your best players not being happy is not a good formula.

And taken at face value, if he has been being used as their top CB, refusing to budge so that he’d at least be the top-paid CB on the team seems pretty blatantly a case of the cartoonish snatching away the freshly signed contract while chortling “gotcha, sucker!”.

People criticize the players for not living up to their contracts, like a bunch of divas, but their teams all stack things in such a way that they have multiple advantages WRT getting rid of them. When was the last time that, barring injury, a team paid out the entirety of a big contract before parting ways with a player?

“Just like they can take a business-first approach, so can I.”

A lot of bad people would be rooted out of powerful positions if only more good people would come to that conclusion sooner.

Try as I might…I just can’t get into soccer(OK…I really don’t try that hard).
Truth is, I thought about giving my opinion on the whole “the name “Chiefs” is bad. For the few that remember me from that other site, You might remember how I got hammered on the name thing. For those of you, you know where I stand.
Sorry, I know this isn’t the proper thread.

I think your opinion is valuable and I’m glad you’re here to comment, whether I agree or not.

Yeah, soccer is not something I can watch either. I can’t do basketball either. Football and baseball are my jam.

Not sure which side you are on but I support anyone who can give a reasoned opinion.

As for soccer, they need to update the game for more scoring and get rid of the asinine ties – the thrill of a shootout is unbelievable.

I think the MLS should try some different shit. They cant compete with the european league anyway. Personally Id move the penalty shots back, give the goalies a realistic shot of reacting to the ball instead of mostly guessing.

I think they’d be nuts not to hold him until the legal issues are cleared up because once that’s done he’ll be one of the most highly valued players on the market ever. He could play for another 15 years. I don’t remember ever seeing a proven QB with his youth and potential on the market. Manning, Brady, and perhaps Rodgers next year were/are guys who can do at most 5 more years.
If that means Houston has to wait all season, fine. They aren’t going anywhere this year anyway if they traded him right now.
