Thanksgiving Day: Football Team at Cowboys

It time for round two, so get your tubby butt off the couch and load up another plate. Don’t worry, everyone commits to two plates, that pie ain’t going anywhere until you shove the rest of that turkey down your throat and rinse with gravy.
Who’s ready to watch Alex Smith? I’ll be honest, I haven’t gotten to see him play yet, and as much as I’m glad he’s no longer a Chief, after seeing his stats last week I was pretty bummed to see he lost, so I’ll be looking forward to watching him play and rooting for his Football Team to beat the Cowboys.
BTW, wouldn’t “Footballers” be a better name?
Beat me to it, damn you. 😉
anyhbody else watching new mexico/utah state?
This article’s worth a read, and while it’s covid-related, the “Spanish Flu” epidemic does provide a historical model of how the containment measures taken by then worked out. Since that involved masks and social distancing, not to mention self-quarantining, it is relevant to the measures being taken today.

Here’s another, and it certainly is fitting for the day, since in spite of it all, Michael J. Fox still has things in his life that he’s thankful for.

Does anyone eat T-day dinner at dinner time?
we sorta did this year. Just me and the missuss, shes still fighting off the tail end of covid, so why bother getting up at 8 and start cooking? I made breakfast about 10, bird went in the oven about noon. Ate at halftime of the late game. Just finished cleaning up and stowing the leftovers for all the open faced tukey sammichs im gonna be feasting on
I imagine electic usage spiked at different than normal time this year 🙂
I wish the Mrs and you well.
I wish everyone who has hung around here well, regardless of how they feel about me or I about them. If ever there are days for that, this is one of them.
I answered your question from last night this morning (kinda), missed it at the time.
A couple of former denizens of the old place showed up last night. Been lurking a while, or at least not commenting much, and like what they see.
Hope they join the convos more.
We haven’t eaten yet. But yeah we will.
So here’s an interesting question, with five games remaining, how many can WFT win? Doubtful they can beat the Steelers or Seahawks, but the other three are SF, Panthers, and Eagles. Those are another story entirely.
Eagles are next closest, but they still have to face SEA, GB, AZ, NO, and WFT. Closest they have to an easy win is against the Cowgirls. 7-9 and winning the division’s certainly possible.
if the winner of that division ends up with 7wins Im gonna be upset, I want the absolute chaos of a 5 win team hosting a playoff game while a 10 win team doesnt even make the playoffs
In other news.
Some teams follow the protocols better than others, and the way clusters of positives are popping up but only here and there tells that particular tale. This ain’t just a matter of luck.
Is he the first “star” player to test +? The NFL’s nightmare. And I assume he’s out Sunday, so a cakewalk for Pittsburgh. Is it RG III backing up? No idea.
they may cancel it, play it week 18. We will have the extra teams in the playoffs, its not if. Which makes the steelers bullshit record a bit less relevant, this was the game they was gonna lose remaining on that creampuff schedule so they might be going to the postseason undefeated. Which is fine, just makes us knocking their teeth out that much sweeter
the conspiracy nut in me says its not a coincidence that the week baltimore falls out of the top 7 is the same week they have an outbreak looking to trigger the NFLs “doomsday scenario” of adding more teams to the playoffs. Also that the NFL was wanting this all along because more playoff teams means more money and more viewers
So who’s buying matching SUV’s for Christmas? I can’t stand those commercials.
What a great display from Tank Division
Good for Alex
I’m happy for him, no doubt. I still don’t care for ownership there, but between Alex and Ron WFT is surprisingly easy to like.
I had the thought that they should make AS11 the starter for at least the first 8 games, with Haskins as his back-up. This would allow Smith to get the offense running smoothly while Haskins can get some work in with them, as the occasion offers. This would allow the younger man to get a sense of how the offense should be run while keeping the offense steady. After about 8, you can evaluate where Haskins and Smith are and consider changing, but if they did it at least Haskins wouldn’t be coming in cold.
thats probably ballgame
and thats definately ballgame
The Cowboys’ goose is cooked.
and deep fried

Scheduled the Afternight to run at 2100, since tonight’s effectively a weekend-type day.
I’d thought to myself earlier that if he got down by two scores, they could get Dalton to melt down.
Step one, complete. Forced a punt. Main WFT priority: Avoid turnovers.
That was terrible. Why run a long play like that on a fake punt and ruin the element of surprise?
Looked really bizarre going down.
That didnt work well
I like Alex, but not on 3rd & 15+, or even 10+, come to that.
1st and 10 is pushing it nowadays
Dalton may have had the better stats, but IMO Smith was the better QB.
Smiths on the better team for sure
Oddly, his last year here, 3rd and long was not impossible. Hill, Kelce, and an offensive mastermind apparently help.
Anybody counting how many times Aikman has said Redskins?
I’m watching with the sound off, myself.
Evidently one each for him and Buck
i have heard several
Im sure you’re right. I try not to listen when aikman talks. Or buck
Alex owes McLaurin
And his defense
Way to go Alex Cassell, Matt Smith
ooft
Zeke is weak.
Fed him one too many times, got constipated
