Good morning, AG!

Today in Chiefs history, nothing to report.

On this day in 1542, Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo became the first European to set foot in California, and in 1941, Ted Williams becomes last MLB player to hit .400.

Chiefs Release 6-Year NFL Veteran from Active Roster | Heavy

Kansas City signed Lee, 26, to a one-year deal on March 22. As a six-year NFL veteran, Lee was expected to compete for defensive reps behind second-year linebacker Nick Bolton and third-year linebacker Willie Gay. However, the play of rookie third-round pick Leo Chenal and Darius Harris, who is filling in for Gay during his four-game suspension, pushed Lee down the depth chart. That’s why the Chiefs cut ties with him at the end of the preseason and then signed him to their practice squad at the beginning of the regular season.

Chiefs 3-Year Starter Logged ‘One of Best Efforts of Career,’ Says Insider | Heavy

One of those sacks came courtesy of defensive back L’Jarius Sneed and the third-year pro’s stellar performance was not lost on Arrowhead Pride media member Pete Sweeney, who called the Week 3 defeat “one of the best efforts of [Sneed’s] career.”

Patrick Mahomes Shrugs off ‘Last Time’ vs Tom Brady With Humorous Response | Heavy

Of course, the headliner will be Patrick Mahomes II vs. Tom Brady part six, with the career series currently set at a three-games-to-two lead in favor of the Bucs veteran. If you only take into account Brady’s time in Tampa Bay, however, the quarterback matchup is even at one win a piece.

Hurricane Ian: Buccaneers moving practice to Miami; NFL reportedly may move Week 4 game vs. Chiefs to Midwest | CBS Sports

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/hurricane-ian-buccaneers-moving-practice-to-miami-nfl-monitoring-week-4-game-vs-chiefs-in-tampa-bay/

A matchup between two contenders who recently met in the Super Bowl is scheduled to take place Sunday night, as Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are set to visit Tampa to face Tom Brady and the Buccaneers. However, Hurricane Ian has changed how the teams are preparing for the important showdown, and may even reschedule the game altogether.

Former Chiefs Super Bowl Starter Signs With AFC Squad | Heavy

Senior NFL reporter Matt Lombardo of Heavy Sports named the Jets as a potential landing spot for Remmers, 33, on September 16. He also said that Remmers was fielding interest from multiple other NFL teams as he neared full recovery from the knee injury that he suffered during the 2021 season as a member of the Chiefs.

Chiefs special teams failures lead to stunning loss in Indy | The News Tribune

https://www.thenewstribune.com/sports/article266378016.html

There was the fumbled punt that led to a touchdown. The near-fumble that backed them up to their own goal line. The missed field goal and missed extra point. The head-scratching decision to try a fake field goal rather than put the ball in the hands of one of the league’s best quarterbacks. And lousy kick returns that led to more poor field position.

Chiefs to sign former Jaguars K Matthew Wright to practice squad | Chiefswire

According to ESPN’s Field Yates, the Chiefs intend to sign former Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Matthew Wright to the practice squad. This move comes a day after the team released Matt Ammendola, who struggled in the Week 3 loss to the Indianapolis Colts, missing an extra point and field goal.

It will never stop. Only the targets change.
And I’ve always wondered, what does the “H” stand for? Harold? Harvey? Horatio? Jesus Horatio Christ? That sounds right. Don’t really see him as a “Harvey”

Shaq Barrett on Chiefs’ offensive line: “I really don’t think it’s too much of a difference. I think we have a lot of favorable matchups. We have an opportunity to really dominate the game … to really impose our will as pass-rushers. We can really have a coming-out party.”

Eye of Hurricane Ian is over 35 miles wide. To put that in perspective, the entirety of Hurricane Charley (2004) could fit inside the eye of Hurricane Ian.

Within the last ~15 minutes, Hurricane Ian officially made landfall as an immensely powerful and slow-moving storm. Residents in the storm’s path may be under the eye for three hours or more.

What I don’t get is why do people leave their cars parked in beach areas? I get staying if you live in an elevated structure and feel you can ride it out. But what about the stupid cars????

Yeah I’m not sure either. I think part of it is that many Americans have 2+ cars per family. I think I heard a statistic once about that… something about there being more cars in America than people of driving age in much of Europe or some such.

What’s up guys. I admit I tried this site after AP’s downgrade in quality, didn’t like it, and went back to posting. There’s nothing redeeming about it after a couple of years of trying, and I’m happy to say I’m committing to the Arrowhead Guys community.

Still can’t believe that we lost to these guys. Will say this though, Matt Ryan did exactly what a good competitor does. Took Jones’s words and crammed them right down his throat. I respect that. I don’t even know if he’ll learn from this. I remember him getting in brady’s face in the SB while the bucs were in the process of blowing our team to pieces. I couldn’t believe it. I was like STFU and get back in the huddle you moroooon!!!!

The situational flags that are game-changing need to be handled in a different way. No one should be able to affect the outcome of a game after a play is over. Unless someone gets hurt or physically assaulted. I suggest that the NFL should just hand out $50,000 fines after the fact. Give the officials a potty word flag that they can throw that lets the players know they just got the potty word fine and move on with the game.

What it wasn’t game changing? How can you know if it is or isn’t “on the spot” (you can’t)

Not a horrible idea, but fine needs to be WAY bigger, like $1M …

to Chris Jones … please just STFU … stop talking, stop tweeting, just STOP and just play football … no commentary, no trash talking, no NOTHING … show some CLASS on the field, ok? Thanks!

NFL okay with Tua playing with “bad back and ankle–NOT a concussion”, but Chris Jones says some naughty words and the NFL’s Church Lady has a conniption fit throwing a “no ‘W’ for you” yellow hanky….. what a joke.

1) Jones’ classless trash talking idiocy was NOT the reason KC lost

2) Jones needs to STFU and play ball with class and integrity … plenty of time for talking IF the TEAM wins the game and division and SB … THAT’S when it’s “ok” to run your mouth, until then it’s schoolboy childish BS (I prefer sportsmanship in sports)

Last I heard sustained wind speeds are 2 mph less than Cat 5 strength. Updated track takes it clear across Florida, then back out into the Atlantic before hitting SE Georgia/Charleston, SC as a tropical storm.
Florida is going to get hit and hit hard.

Doesn’t appear to be, at least not in the path of major effects (though you still may get some rain). Going to traverse from SW Florida (Tampa Bay area, rather than the panhandle) to the northeast, then turn back NW and hit SE Georgia/Charleston, SC, before turning more northward and dissipating.

More (but not much more) on the Jones penalty
Per a league source, the post-game report from referee Shawn Smith said that Jones used “disturbing language,” and that there is “no place in professional football” for it.”
Had to be that hamster/elderberries thing.
