Good morning, AG!
Today in Chiefs’ history, Brandon Carr was born in 1986
Elsewhere, in 1994, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis—who everyone wanted to be and became known for her style and elegance—died at age 64.
1935: British archaeological scholar, military strategist, and author T.E. Lawrence, whose life inspired the epic film Lawrence of Arabia (1962), died at age 46 following a motorcycle accident
1894: Ho Chi Minh—founder of the Indochina Communist Party (1930) and its successor, the Viet Minh (1941), and president (1945–69) of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (North Vietnam)—was born in Hoang Tru, Vietnam, French Indochina.
1884: After finding out that, actually, those WERE their monkeys, The Ringling brothers opened a small circus in Baraboo, Wisconsin
And finally, in 1536, having been found guilty on charges of adultery, Anne Boleyn—the second wife of King Henry VIII of England and the mother of Queen Elizabeth I—lost her head. Literally.
And with that, let’s not lose our heads over the news that some of the tweets are back. As of press time, only our own Twitter feed was restored. Maybe by the time you see this, it’ll be fixed

Jim Brown, THAT Jim Brown, dies at 87
You can argue who is/was the best RB, but nobody compared to Mr Brown.
I didn’t know this. Thanks Modell, for robbing the NFL of another few years of greatness
“In 1966, Brown was filming “The Dirty Dozen” in London, and there were production delays due to bad weather. When Browns owner Art Modell threatened to suspend Brown if he showed up late to training camp, Brown informed Modell he was retiring at age 30.”
In regards to slamming Model, whom I wasn’t necessarily a fan of, Brown was working for him, he did have a right as the employer for his services. Brown made his choice and good on him. Not playing for another X amount of years may have prolonged his life for all we know.
My two cents
Sure, but are you telling me that the best RB in the league couldn’t miss a week of camp? It was more important to Modell to show him who’s boss? I mean, it’s not like Brown was sitting at home, doing nothing and didn’t want to come to work.
I knew he retired to pursue an acting career, but not under those circumstances. In 1966? Gee, what was going on in 1966? RIP Mr. Brown. You represented your community well.
From what I understand based on past articles, interviews etc about Art.. probably.
All I know is from an owner/employer perspective, that was well within his right. That’s all I’m saying
RIP to one of the greats to play the game. I didn’t get to see him during his career, but he was always the stuff of legend and I’m pretty sure when I was a kid I saw some of his “greatest hits” on some of those top-ten NFL countdown videos.
just saw this online …
You can argue who is/was the best RB, but nobody compared to Mr Brown
no argument: he WAS The Best
Rewatched the super bowl against the niners this morning. Forgot how great Damien Williams played in that game

Philadelphia restaurant sets ‘Gold Standard’ with $700 burger | UPI
What’s covered in gold, costs $700, weighs 8 ounces and is edible in Philadelphia? Answer: a hamburger.
For $700, you can get the Gold Standard. That’s a Wagyu meat burger with caviar, fresh black truffle, lobster flambeed with cognac, topped with aged Irish cheddar and drizzled with honey.
Fries are included. As is a 1-ounce pour of Louis XIII Cognac, which fetches around $5,000 a bottle.
Still not on par with the $3500 mint julip at the Derby
I might eat it if they paid me $700.
At least the criminals associated with us don’t threaten to kill people.
Former San Francisco 49ers fullback Bruce Miller was reported to Capitol Police this week after he allegedly threatened California congressman Eric Swalwell on Twitter.
