Chiefs news for May 19, 2023

Jump to Tweets | Jump to comments

Good morning, AG!

Today in Chiefs’ history, Brandon Carr was born in 1986

Elsewhere, in 1994, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis—who everyone wanted to be and became known for her style and elegance—died at age 64.

1935: British archaeological scholar, military strategist, and author T.E. Lawrence, whose life inspired the epic film Lawrence of Arabia (1962), died at age 46 following a motorcycle accident

1894: Ho Chi Minh—founder of the Indochina Communist Party (1930) and its successor, the Viet Minh (1941), and president (1945–69) of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (North Vietnam)—was born in Hoang Tru, Vietnam, French Indochina.

1884: After finding out that, actually, those WERE their monkeys, The Ringling brothers opened a small circus in Baraboo, Wisconsin

And finally, in 1536, having been found guilty on charges of adultery, Anne Boleyn—the second wife of King Henry VIII of England and the mother of Queen Elizabeth I—lost her head. Literally.

And with that, let’s not lose our heads over the news that some of the tweets are back. As of press time, only our own Twitter feed was restored. Maybe by the time you see this, it’ll be fixed

RIP..
In regards to slamming Model, whom I wasn’t necessarily a fan of, Brown was working for him, he did have a right as the employer for his services. Brown made his choice and good on him. Not playing for another X amount of years may have prolonged his life for all we know.
My two cents

I knew he retired to pursue an acting career, but not under those circumstances. In 1966? Gee, what was going on in 1966? RIP Mr. Brown. You represented your community well.

From what I understand based on past articles, interviews etc about Art.. probably.
All I know is from an owner/employer perspective, that was well within his right. That’s all I’m saying

RIP to one of the greats to play the game. I didn’t get to see him during his career, but he was always the stuff of legend and I’m pretty sure when I was a kid I saw some of his “greatest hits” on some of those top-ten NFL countdown videos.

Philadelphia restaurant sets ‘Gold Standard’ with $700 burger | UPI

https://www.upi.com/Odd_News/2023/05/19/drury-gold-standard-burger-philadelphia/1191684511499/

What’s covered in gold, costs $700, weighs 8 ounces and is edible in Philadelphia? Answer: a hamburger.

For $700, you can get the Gold Standard. That’s a Wagyu meat burger with caviar, fresh black truffle, lobster flambeed with cognac, topped with aged Irish cheddar and drizzled with honey.

Fries are included. As is a 1-ounce pour of Louis XIII Cognac, which fetches around $5,000 a bottle.
