Good morning AG!

Key takeaways from first half of Chiefs vs. Buccaneers | Chiefswire

You couldn’t have asked for a better start for the Kansas City Chiefs. The offense is firing on all cylinders, scoring more points in the first half than they did in a full game last week. Who knows whether the loss to the Colts or the Super Bowl LV loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers sparked this performance, but it’s been fun to watch so far. The Chiefs get the ball to start the half and lead 28-17

WATCH: Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes makes magic on 2-yard touchdown pass | Chiefswire

It was some of that patented Mahomes Magic that we’ve all come to know and love. It was lacking a week ago, but it’s back in full force for Week 4.

Instant analysis of Chiefs’ Week 4 win over Buccaneers | Chiefwire

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes told sideline reporter Mellisa Stark that this week wasn’t about getting revenge for Super Bowl LV. He said this week was a “getting our season back on track” game and it really feels like the team did just that

https://sports.yahoo.com/patrick-mahomes-gets-the-best-of-tom-brady-as-chiefs-roll-past-buccaneers-033254383.html

One of the key plays in the first half came on a Chiefs slot blitz. Brady didn’t anticipate cornerback L’Jarius Sneed blitzing and he got hit hard from his front side. Brady fumbled and immediately grabbed at his arm. He rubbed and rolled his shoulder all the way to the bench. The Chiefs scored shortly after to take a 28-10 lead.

Before this week’s Sunday night game that matched Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes, NBC Beck’s cover of Neil Young’s “Old Man” in its commercials.

It was a little schmaltzy, but it wasn’t totally off point. Beck sang “Old man take a look at my life, I’m a lot like you were” over highlights of the two quarterbacks. It ended up being a fitting soundtrack to a game that seemed meaningful, in more ways than just which team won in Week 4.

After the game, Bucs head coach Todd Bowles took responsibility for the loss, which he refused to blame on the impact Hurricane Ian had on his team’s preparations throughout the week.

“They kicked our butts all over the field,” Bowles told the media during his postgame press conference, pointing out all the ways in which his defense failed to contain Patrick Mahomes and the rest of Kansas City’s dynamic offensive attack.

And on it went.

Better start.

Better finish, too.

The bust narrative has been a bit extreme. IMO the reason for it has been a lack of ground yards, which is a RB’s primary responsibility. Receiving yards is a bonus. If this team can establish a solid ground game that must be defended against, the Lombardi Trophy is ours. Last night was a great step in that direction, hopefully it continues for the rest of the season.

We have seen this game before. Andy/Pat or whoever gets bored with the ground game. Hopefully they find a way to not do that, as I agree with you. If they can keep focusing on a successful run game, they will be there in the end.

On “normal” teams, yes. On Reid teams, ground yards seen to be the bonus

So that would have put him in 12th last year. 800 yards behind leader Jonathon Taylor. I’d say good company but that tweet makes it sound like it’s all world or something. I’d say this is pretty much the minimum we were expecting when he was drafted him at the very end of the 1st round.

This comes off as negative but just to be clear. I thought he played great last night (outside the 4th down play). Tough to get yardage through the air against those LBs. I’m excited to see that running performance with around 40 yards receiving.

I heard it referenced last night (after having forgotten about it), but what’s the ongoing kerfuffle with Tua Tagovailoa and his doctor? I know that Tua had a concussion in Thursday night’s game, and I thought he had cleared protocols…

Yeah I think I just read that. Apparently Tua was cleared to go back into the game by the independent doctor, when the NFL doesn’t think he should have been, so the doctor was canned.

Chiefs BUM wide receivers last year (minus T. Hill)………here are STATS thru FOUR games of those BUM’s

  • D. Robinson = 5 catches for 41 yards — 1.25 catches per game
  • B. Pringle = 2 catches for 33 yards — 0.5 catches per game
  • M. Hardman = 8 catches for 71 yards — 2 catches per game

I expect MORE out of Hardman, been in SAME chiefs system for THREE years!!……..Like Rodney Harrison said on last night broadcast……Hardman should be the #1 receiver. BUT……you can see it on the field Patrick doesn’t trust Hardman.

Soooo…
Happy…..almost all the BUM wide receivers are GONE!!! This year, Chiefs are stacked with productive WR’s & TE’s…….I would like to see more of J. Watson, J. Fortson & S. Moore………and 2 or 3 TE sets.

Home of the Chiefs!!

Part of me wonders what this game looks like without the opening fumble.

The other part of me wonders what this game looks like without a couple of key drops by us.

This was by far and away Tampas best game. Plus they got some favorable refs (not complaining but the noncall on the intentional grounding, the “watson” pass interference, whatever that Thornhill call was) and we kicked their ass. That’s a good team when they are clicking on both sides but no match for the chiefs when they are.

Late one Sunday, down in Tampa Bay
Our favorite Chiefs showed up to play
Down in Tampa, what a game

Oh what a game
You know that Brady was so over-hyped
In the Kingdom we don’t like that tripe
Sweet October, what a game.

Oh I, got a giddy feeling when we beat
Those Bucs
Like a rug
As I recall it ended much too soon
Oh what a game!”

CEHs best game imo. Dude looked like he was running angry. So was Pacheco.

Only play I remember from McKinnon was the 3rd and short before the failed 4th and short where RoJo probably would have gotten the 1st down.

thumbs up to BOTH CEH & Pacheco!!
Daddy will keep doing Tough Love

Run with power & vision
Also pickup the BLITZ – game in, game out – EVERY game!!!

Sure everyone heard: Rodney Harrison, Cris Collinsworth both say on last night broadcast, Pacheco needs more touches. Chris also said: you can see the Chiefs running back competition, it’s pushing both RB to run harder.

Like Daddy typed: IT’S NOT THE OFFENSIVE LINE. it’s easier for a 300 pound man to run block, move that 300 body Forward. Pass blocking 300 pound man is on his heels……..while another 300 pound man is rushing @ him.
.
Keep up the hard, smart running CEH & Panheco!!!!! We want PATRICK to play @ Arrowhead for ANOTHER 20 YEARS — running game extends QB life.

And win MANY Super Bowls!!!
