All the lawyers trying to run away from the challenge that they signed onto would be comical, if it weren’t.

Hey all! I have just about everything booked for my first Chiefs game. Last two items I need to work on are gameday transportation and what order to hit up the BBQ joints. I have kinda late Ian dinner Friday 9/25 (land around 730PM), lunch and dinner on Saturday and lunch on Monday. Also something to do on Saturday would be cool.

Any feedback on transportation and restaurants would be greatly appreciated. You all gave me some ideas previously but now I can’t find the post haha! Is Uber / Lyft pretty reliable for games? Staying about 8 miles away according to the map.

Thanks in advance guys!

Eight miles in which direction, though. Near Arrowhead, both Gate’s and LC’s are pretty good, but unless you’re willing to pay for considerable transport, it’s hard to advise. Too many to choose from, and other than pricing reasons, I can’t think of even one I’d warn you away from entirely.

You guys rock! Flying in. Staying at the Drury Inn on E 42nd St. Don’t mind paying or overpaying for transport if it means a good time. Would staying downtown be better?

Ubering home from the game is stupid expensive. However, the city transit bus is a great deal if you get a hotel near a pickup/drop-off point. My grandfather used the bus for every game. Unfortunately he died so I can’t ask him for any tips.

The hotel you picked is in Blue Springs I think. It would probably be better to be closer to downtown or the state line for convenience of everything other than the stadium.

Thanks for the info. I like the idea of bussing. Any good bars or something fun for Saturday night downtown?

Watched that with my wife a few weeks ago. She apparently didn’t know what to expect, because she was really concerned when their ice machine broke. She said she hoped the fish would still be good when they made it back.

I just stayed silent and waited for her to experience the tragedy.

My kids give me the nicest gifts. In this case, a nice long phone call, split between the youngest’s parents

It’s always good to hear from them, especially on a “just because I wanted to talk with y’all” basis. Didn’t hurt to hear he’d gotten a raise, and was in line for another in 6mo, if he kept doing what he normally does, either. Both of my kids work when they are at work, but Ep V got is more strongly. Even from his first job at 16, working at the Lansing Popeye’s, he’d not only gripe to me about the immaturity and drama from some coworkers, but how it interfered with him getting things done. We dropped by once on his day off, and the manager couldn’t say enough nice things about him, either. One of his best workers, from what he said. He’ll get that raise, I have little doubt of that.

They’re both pretty special people. Neither one’s afraid of standing on their own, both rapidly become good at whatever job hires them, and they routinely over-deliver in ways management didn’t expect (and sometimes completely overlooks), and all while being good, pretty likeable people, ones that others turn to for help.

We didn’t start them out with much, in terms of money and privilege, but they’re mentally equipped for whatever they choose to do. And neither one would trade their childhood for that of any of their peers. That’s a mic drop, for me, and it’s nice to know that I’ve done such a good job as a parent. It wasn’t like I learned much of anything useful about parenting from my own. Unless you count the “don’t do blank” things as useful, but those were more a side element, in the end.

My mom had a shitty mom and stepdad (father died badly in a Ford plant and she was teased about it) and was the kindest, most empathetic person I’ve known. Hell, she’s been dead 8+ yrs and someone called the other day looking for her to do some tailoring.

I agree, we can’t let Terez fade so fast. He was one of the best and one of my favorite guys to listen to talk about the Chiefs.

RIP!

He’s not getting this support for no good reason, either. He obviously earned it.

My rhymes and my records they don’t get played
because my records and rhymes they don’t get made
and if you rap like me you don’t get paid
and if you roll like me you don’t get laid.
