Still not sure what’s up with Brown, other than presuming he’s getting some very bad advice. Holding out can only hurt him, and not just in KC, but around the league, as well. It’s not that I condemn all players who hold out, but it’ll be obvious to most GMs who bother to look that he’s got a lot of the blame for the failed negotiations, for dragging his feet seeking competent representation, then hiring a firm that’s an NFL rookie when dealing with a team that has to carefully navigate the cap. Such contracts have to be intricate, I should think.

And if his attitude is “I’d like to see them try to replace me!”, what he seems to be missing is that there are competent LTs who can do just that. Maybe not as well, but for less money and far less hassle. Skipping camp will only ensure that he’s not ready to go if he does decide to play the season out, even presuming he’s in post-camp shape, which he likely won’t be in. Makes no sense at all that I can discern.

Chiefs add depth to the offensive line by signing a new tackle

Evin Ksiezarczyk has spent time with several NFL teams during the last two seasons.

Should you REALLY sign a guy to a long term deal for bunches of dollars if you have to add a clause in that contract that requires him to….study?

“Player shall complete at least four (4) hours of Independent Study (as defined below) each week (excluding any bye week) during each Playing Season (as defined below) during the term of the Contact.”

So a two part Question?

Would you were a signed Chiefs jersey after it was signed?
Would you were a Bolton rookie jersey #54 since he has now changed Jerseys numbers?

Bolton certainly belongs on this list after his rookie campaign and I’d say that lumping him in this tier is a fair assessment. After little in the way of expectations, Bolton was leading all rookies in the NFL in tackles by Week 6. The No. 58 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft, Bolton appeared in 16 regular-season games for the Chiefs last season. He started 12 of those games for the team, leading the K.C. defense in total tackles (112) and tackles for loss (11) by the season’s end. Bolton became just the ninth rookie to ever hit those marks in the past 21 NFL seasons, joining Colts LB Darius Leonard, who is ranked in PFF’s ‘elite’ tier for linebackers. Perhaps Bolton could join Leonard in that tier sooner than expected.
Bolton would go on to be named the Mack Lee Hill recipient for the Chiefs in 2021, denoting the team’s Rookie of the Year. That’s impressive considering the team also had two rookie starters on the offensive line worthy of recognition.

Spicy Topic…
with inflation continuing to raise – below is not a surprise:
.
Sales of beer, smokes signal shift.
Year-over-year, lower-priced beer sales jumped 5.4% in the four weeks ending July 2, with Busch Light, Icehouse and Milwaukee’s Best Ice showing the strongest gains. Sales of high-end imported and superpremium beers are also growing, suggesting wealthier drinkers are still spending freely. Meanwhile, sales of cheaper cigarette brands Montego and Maverick have accelerated this year, eating into Marlboro’s U.S. market share.
 .
Lower-priced store brands of food staples, including coffee and oatmeal, are among items “gaining traction with consumers for the first time since the pandemic began,” according to market researchers.

MORE SPICY:

Poll: Nearly 30% of Americans think they may have to ‘take up arms’ against U.S. government. The survey itself is subject to a number of limitations, not least of which being its small sample size of 1,000 registered voters nationwide.

My 2 cents:
If you recall………the percentage of US citizens that would leave US if she was under attack. So, I believe the above poll percentage.   SMH.
