Wanya Morris was born October 10, 2000, in Grayson, Georgia.Β  He was names after the singer Wanya Morris.Β  He attended Grayson High School and was a consensus five-star recruit.Β  He initially committed to Florida State, then changed to Tennessee.Β

As a true freshman he started 12 of the 13 games at left tackle, winning freshman All-America honors.  His sophomore had him starting 7 games out of 10.   Coach Jeremy Pruitt was fired, so Wanya transferred to Oklahoma.  His junior year there found him playing back up.

His senior year had him starting 8 games – 2 games were missed due to a suspension and a third for an unspecified reason.  He earned second team all Big 12 honors.  He opted to skip the bowl game and focused on preparing for the NFL draft.

He was selected by the Chiefs in the third round.
