Rashee Rice was born on April 22, 2000, in North Richmond Hills, Texas, where he attended Richland High School. As a junior he was named first team all-district, catching 72 passes for 1386 yards. He was a three start recruit and committed to SMU before his senior year. He had also received offers from Washington State, Houston, Virginia, Texas Tech, Northwestern, and others.
As a college freshman, he had 25 receptions for 403 yards and a td. He became the starter his sophomore year and had 48 catches for 683 yards and 5 td’s. His junior year had 64 catches and 670 yards. His senior year averaged 8 catches a game and 1355 yards.
He spent time catching balls from Patrick Mahomes in the off season, and Mahomes heavily endorsed him. The Chiefs drafted him in the 2nd round of the 2023 draft.
