“When It Rains, It Pours”
(A Chiefs’ poem by 3rdnlong) – 2021 NFL Week 7, KC 3 at TEN 27.
“When It Rains, It Pours”
Chiefs vs. Titans. What can I say?
The football never once bounced our way.
It was all Tennessee to our frustration.
It was a loss of total domination.
We couldn’t stop plays. We couldn’t make any.
We couldn’t score touchdowns by Mahomes or Henne.
No matter how they tried, the Titans got the scores
So you can see, when it rains, it pours.
This was a game of giving it away.
Throwing picks or fumbling every third play
Penalties galore were racked up on our side
And the Titans got away with a few, though we cried.
The end zone was lost. We never found it once.
A lone field goal made our offense a dunce.
Even their punts! We started at the 4!
So you can see, when it rains, it pours.
Willie Gay may be the lone exception.
Stopping Derrick Henry and that one interception!
The lone bright spot of the game does shine,
But we wish 2nd quarter didn’t start Miller Time.
Mahomes got injured. Henne came in.
Still couldn’t get us closer to a win.
The Chiefs are hurting. Shaken to the core.
So you all know, when it rains, it pours.
Now we have a week ahead to regroup.
Get our minds straight, stop playing like poop.
Next Monday night we welcome the Giants.
Needing to show we’re tough and defiant.
It’s a sobering loss, one we want to shelve.
We saw the comeback of Chiefs 2012!
Now we need answers. We need a lot more.
And I guess you all know, when it rains, it pours.

Couldn’t of said it better.
Thanks man. Hopefully the next post game poem will be a cheerful one.
very good, although Bolton was the real bright spot, dude was a beast all day long … the only bright spot (outside of Gay’s INT)
15 tackles 9 unassisted. Whoa
Yeah, I realized that too late. Bolton was great.
Yep – that poem sums up the day. Appreciate all the work here. Keep them coming.
