Breaking News: Frank Clark Will Be Released
29 repliesChiefs and Frank Clarkโs agent Erik Burkhardt were unable to find common ground on a reworked deal during several conversations at the combine and the expectation now is that Kansas City will release the 29-year-old DE who is the NFLโs third all-time leading postseason sackโฆ https://t.co/IqjwATIWSt

I’m going to hold out hope that Frank goes and sees what his options are elsewhere and comes back. I know the odds are long that will happen, but I’m not giving up yet. As Lloyd said, “So you’re saying there’s a chance! I hear ya.”
The money both were going to cost us can be better invested elsewhere.
HALLELUJAH!
For both moves
Assuming he is gone Iโm sure heโll get paid well somewhere.
Iโll miss playoff Frank Clark for sure! I wonโt miss the cap hit though.
I wish him well!
For less than 10 sacks over the last 2 years? I don’t think so
Playoff Frank Clark makes me think twice though.
We paid him entirely too much to just be a playoffs player.
I’m sure Veach has something up his sleeve. Clark was a solid player, but not top of the market. and even top of the market is hard to justify on how it effects the actual winning of games, other than QB
Cullen got 55 sacks out of a bunch of decent-ish guys and Chris Jones. Veach might be putting his coaching to the test next year.
Before today’s news, I was speculating that Chiefs move up in the draft this year for a DE
BVeach is gonna be real busy in free agency, must be.
I heard a rumor that Justin Houston hits the free agency market this year. Do you think we kick the tires, see how he feels about coming back to Chiefs Kingdom?
No, I don’t believe that we will “kick the tires” on him
We parted ways on bad terms with Houston. I don’t see that happening.
Rick Burkhokder is still the head trainer right?
Nah – he was old and declining when we let him go. He’s done.
Interesting point though – if you define player cost as salary / number of games he turns up for the #55 is the most expensive player on the roster ๐
Frank is definitely one of my favorite players from this run but this is a business at the end of the day. Best wishes to 55.
More surprised by this move than the OBJ news. I 100 percent expected Frank to come back on a reworked deal.
I think it’s 50-50 he comes back on a new deal
I believe your right
That contract was way way out of whack. Forget the dead money. Look for 2 year incentive laden contract.
Me too. I thought there was a big push to keep him on
Thank you, Frank Clark. You came in and dominated in the postseason.
Best of luck going forward, and please please don’t sign with the Faders, Donkeys or Chokers.
I was hoping they could agree to a pay cut, but this isn’t as surprising as Orlando Brown.
I trust that BVeach knows how to rebuild
Yep, my post earlier day is a good reminder for those who are worried about losing these 2 guys.
OT or DE in the first round this year?
Both โฆ.
