What is the speed limit there? 83 is very fast.

I just read 82 in a 65 zone.

While drunk. POS.

Unless there is something else that has not come out, it sure sounds like Britt Reid needs to receive the maximum punishment.

Uh…ok. Why’d it take so long to be charged?

What other charges could he have received, Ariel thankfully survived so no vehicular manslaughter, wreckless driving, speeding? I feel DWI trumps those and so theres no point in tacking on minor misdemeanors. Im not a lawyer, far far from it, and Im not trying to defend the piece of shit in any way as Im someone who despises drunk driving and have always said if someone is drinking they are in my opinion drunk at that time and have gotten in pretty severe arguments with family over it because Ive never been a drinker and have seen many friends and families lives ruined by it so Ive chosen to stay away from it as much as possible. Im not perfect by any means and have had a few drinks in my life so Im not trying to make this an anti-alcohol rant as I know that would go over on this site thats endorsed by a made up vodka brand, worse than a lead balloon. I just dont see the argument of him getting off easy because there was more he could be charged with, then again I could and probably am wrong.

I was referring mostly to the lapse in time between the accident and charges. Everyone I know was charged immediately. A DWI for almost killing a girl? Who knows how this will affect her life. I’m not a lawyer either, but doesn’t look like much imagination went into the charge. Assault? Assault and battery? I feel for Andy, but his son is a menace to society.

Is that supposed to be 30 min “after” the crash? How would they know his BAC 30 min before the crash?

That’s what I thought too.

from the article.

Prosecutors allege that Reid had a serum blood alcohol content of .113 roughly two hours after the crash.”

Now the $20,000 question: Does this blow back on the organization as a whole, i.e. Andy? If there was drinking, was it common place amongst the staff? If so…yikes. This could have far-reaching effects on the the staff. Also, would explain some of the game plan going into the SB, cause it wasn’t great.

$20,000? Sounds a bit cheap. The million dollar question is probably more accurate. Maybe more.

Given that is the classic quote from old game shows (that or $25,000), it still stands. Your point is taken.

I was going to say he could afford an Uber, but I wonder if the NFL Covid protocols would have been a worry about getting in the car with a stranger.

Drinking and driving is stupid. Have a plan before you drink. The girl and her family are the ones paying the terrible price for his stupidity.

Knowing that he was going 83mph means he was probably heading back to the Chiefs facilities and not leaving them. Probably keeps the Chiefs from being held liable.

Im pretty sure the initial report said he was getting on the interstate. Why he would be going 83 mph? Damn good question.

“He was taken to a hospital for emergency surgery for an injury to his [little] groin.”

Hopefully it took out his balls.
