Cargo ship had engine maintenance in port before it collided with Baltimore bridge, officials say (US Coast Guard)

well, that’s reassuring …

The cargo ship that lost power and crashed into a bridge in Baltimore underwent “routine engine maintenance” in port beforehand, the U.S. Coast Guard said Wednesday

That’d give us the first down by 3.37 in, so we would never need to ask for measurement.

To put those numbers is perspective, Orlando Brown fell in the draft mainly due to concerns over his athleticism and movement skills. He had a 25.5 inch verts and a 9’5 Broad at 6’7 and 345 lbs

This guy hasn’t been training for the specific drills like they do for the combine and he isn’t a draft pick. Every team is now allow international camp invites. He either makes the team or not it doesn’t hurt to try. Can he catch the ball and hold onto it? That’s the first question that needs to be answered. I bet he can take and deliver a hit as long as he doesn’t lose the ball.

Well, assuming that he gets the ‘international player’ exemption I think the deal is that he doesn’t count against the 55 players on the roster. Not sure about the salary cap. Either way it’s effectively a zero cost experiment for us.

The Eagles drafted a Rugby player a few years ago and now he is their starting RT. So the skills can translate. American Football was basically Rugby before the legalization of the forward pass. I actually watch a decent amount of Rugby. It is a fun sport to watch

You may be right, but it didn’t look like anything spectacular in the video. Many of the plays there just had him catching the pitch out and running mostly uncontested.

It does not pay for it.

https://www.kcur.org/sports/2024-03-05/royals-stadium-sales-tax-jackson-county-missouri-chiefs

They will still need somewhere around $700+ million dollars more. Do you think the team is going to pay that?

Tyrone
Reply to  Tyrone
03/27/2024 6:50 pm

The Royals will get ~$1 billion from the tax (over 40 years).

They have $200 million in debt on Truman Sports Complex that has to be paid off.

Then much of the remaining $800 million will go to interest on loan repayments they’re planning to take out to build the stadium.

“That leaves somewhere between $250 million and $350 million that can actually be used to cover stadium expenses — and leaves more than two-thirds of the stadium’s cost unaccounted for.”

“Schulte said the Royals plan to fill that gap with money from Kansas City and Missouri, but without this document, the specifics remain unclear.”

They’re going to get their $1 billion tax dollars and then say, “Ok, we also need another $700 million tax dollars to actually build the stadium.”

looks like he kicks off from the 30

kicking team (other than kicker) lines up at opponent 35

rcvg team lines up at own 30 … 5 yards away from kicking team

get a speedster (Hardman?) who can catch … if he finds even one seam, or can turn the edge, he’s likely gone

I think this opinion is valid regarding Sneed and Allegretti probably not being able to live up to their respective contracts:

https://arrowheadaddict.com/posts/2-former-chiefs-who-wont-live-up-to-their-new-contracts-01hsxm3tcvw5

To add to the Sneed part of the conversation, he did get penalized a lot this past season, and while he made a spectacular goal line save in the Super Bowl, didn’t he miss an assignment earlier in the game that resulted in a 50+ yard TD? If that was his fault (and I don’t know for sure that it was his fault or all his fault), then it seems like giving up one TD and saving another one is sort of a wash in the course of the score of the game. There are other considerations that that, but the scores are the main thing. Is his knee a potential problem?
