please can we supply Poland and Slovakia will send MIGs to Ukraine with some of our whatevers as replacements whlie we continue to upgrade (also we need to upgrade the MIGs with AMRAAMs
as per Asso Press: Poland has been using the fighter jets since 1989 and has 28 of them. It has been replacing them with U.S.-made F-16s and South Korean FA 50 multi-task jets and is also purchasing U.S. F-35 fighters
(see? it’s good for American businesses!)
I was concerned enough about Brown I stayed up for 3 hours past bedtime
not really
more remeniscing
I know what you mean … ahhh the old daze
yep Memories
happy or haunting
or both at once
an old friend from KC may (most likely will) visit Colorado this summer (with her 3 teenage grandkids) for some camping, etc … been 25 yrs … can’t wait & scared to death
ok, this is gonna sound crazy, but maybe (just maybe) Veach has “a plan” (even if none of us have a clue what it is) but let’s pretend that Taylor (by default and money) is LT, Thuney LG, Creed C, Pancake RG, Kinnard RT (just thinking out loud) …
maybe Thuney LT, Pancake LG, Creed C, Kinnard RG, Taylor RT (hey, it could happen) … Kinnard & Smith: The Pancake Brothers
Chiefs 2024 comp pick projections (s0 far)
5th (Wylie)
5th(Thornhill)
6th (Saunders)
meh … ok I guess, could be better *shrug* is what it is … do we lose one to the Jags (or wherever Taylor’s from)
I think it was a mistake paying Taylor like a LT. Dude was a bad RT, like worst in the league, before 2022. Iโm sure Brown wasnโt settling for what he got from Cincy from us, rightfully so. It is what it is but I think kc will regret letting brown walk and overpaying Taylor
Chiefs have taken some risks in FA. I hope they pan out
Losing Brown and Thornhill will be regrettable, I fear
Thornhill is already replaced, Brown took himself out with his not really ready for prime time agent, so sad…
as for Taylor, he is 25 an ascending in play
remember he played for Jax and was a equal in pass blocking to Brown, Taylor will get help from Thuney just like Brown
the run blocking is not all that important on the Left side and was said that the Chiefs RPO’s will be more effective with Taylor
FWIW, PFF graded Brown as a better pass blocker last year and every year before. He was substantially better at run blocking. Make no mistake, as it stands right now, KC downgraded at LT.
We don’t have a centerfield FS anywhere near the talent level and experience in this defense as Thornhill.
it was cause Brown said no
not cause the Chiefs did not tell him what he was worth
and as stated we could still trade up and get a rookie LT that would surpass both Brown and Taylor
the LT spot is covered as best as we could when Brown said NO
I must be taking crazy pills here. The Chiefs had to structure their entire blocking scheme around OBJ’s inability to win one on ones. Jet McKinnon had to essentially be on OBJ’s hip to keep Mahomes from getting murdered out there. What are we talking about?
in his defense, he DID do some clever locker room videos
Your eyes deceive you
anyone know the guarantied money?
At least $31m per his signing bonus. Havenโt seen guarantees yet
$44m guaranteed

I would have matched that offer. We at least know what Brown is (no matter how limited) at LT. We have NO idea what James is at LT. And with half a billion dollars behind center, I don’t think that is a gamble I want to take. I was waiting to see what Brown got before I gave a definitive opinion on the James signing, but I feel like KC got the short end of the stick on this one. I would take Brown at that price all day over what we spent on James
Agreed. Brown was well worth what they gave Taylor, especially considering the lack of seeing Taylor play LT pretty much ever, even in college. Big and imo unnecessary risk
I don’t imagine it’s much of a gamble really. At the end of the day we lost two tackles. Have to think the position group will be addressed again in the draft.
I sooooooooooooo miss Wylie
Losing 2 tackles is one thing, what appears to be a significant overpay for a LT replacement that’s never played the position is another
per CBS
Brown
This is a developing story.
So the Bengals win the day getting a new RT
he is being paid like a RT
Wylie was half the price (just sayin’)
we won the Super Bowl with two RT’s “)
ha
The Chiefs paid him 16 million on the tag last year
So chiefs lost day 1 paying a RT like a LT?
the draft is still to come
and we could draft a LT
but apparently no one saw Brown as a LT outside KC
I miss Wylie already (moneywise)
Cincy did. He will have made $60m guaranteed over 3 years between KC and Cincy

what I am thinking is the Chiefs now have an edge on the edge
We know Brown
we protected him with game planning and Thuney
now the Bengals have an issue on the blind side?
They’ve had an issue with their OL well before Brown. He’s a massive upgrade to any OT they’ve been trotting out the last few years. And against us, we don’t have speed rushers that some claimed Brown had issues with, so I personally am not seeing the edge KC has at edge
the SF edge and Jones at the b gap
immediately puts Jones in one on one with the Bengals Left Guard
I like Omenihu, don’t get me wrong, but I’m not expecting him to just suddenly draw double teams. Jones will continue to get all the attention from opposing OLs and Omenihu along with Karlaftis are going to have to prove they can win one on one
was only thinking Brown in particular vs the Bengals
The Chiefs are no dummies
and now the Bengals have a very known to the the Chiefs LT on probably their biggest rival
we know Brown
yeah we do, but at times he HAS been very good …
and very bad
love it
I’m not an expert, but are we gaining some comp picks with all the guys leaving?
Depends on if we replace them with other free agents
seems like we gave more than we got.
league wide does make a diff on comp picks
RTFM! ๐
Orlando screwed up
seriously screwed up
he wanted at min 4 for 100 million and 80 guarated
or something
my math sucks
I wonder this looks like a 2 year deal for 31 million plus
is it voidable after two yrs? if so that’s just about it, yeah …
It sounds like he wasn’t getting much interest, and after the Chiefs moved on, he had to take what he could get.
the Chiefs were interested in the Texans LT
he could have got this from the Chiefs I would think especially with the Mahomes restructure
whatever it was is what it is and it’s a done deal … good for him and seeya (also gonna beat ya) in the playoffs … thanks for all you did
don’t let the door hit you in the ass
you mean in the broncos?
Burrow Butt
I thought he was Bears bound
you were close.. its one of those animal teams.
oh, I see it is … “everyone gets a trophy!”
shows what YOU know, huh ๐
why did he not call Veach?
he probably did, and Veach said you had your chance..
TRUE
heck, he had his chance for two years. must have thought he was a hall of famer or something.
He could have been
in
KC
that’s ONLY $16M/yr
Taylor got more
hope he’s gooder
When did he say that?
How? He was offered $38m in guaranteed money from KC over 2 years last year. Instead he got $16m from KC and at least $31m guaranteed from Cincy across likely 2 years. $47m guaranteed across 3 years is better than $38m guaranteed across 2 years
well, Burrow is used to being sacked anyways, so he should fit in.
which Bengal WR did that just cause to get cut loose next year?
on the tweeter thread, someone said “Chiefs falling apart” and I just laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed …
you REALLY wanna see what rebuilding looks like? sonny, EVERY year is the same thing … not “rebuilding” but “reloading”
Haha
yep
reloading Mahomes with more ammo!!!!
armor first, THEN the ammo
karate thing – if you can’t block, you better be able to punch!
yah, so … if we gotta protect Mahomes (or Shane B!) we really SHOULD be looking at OLine, as Thuney isn’t getting any younger (DeCaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaastro!) and in a coupla yrs BOTH Creed Humphrey (who seriously looks like one of THE best guys at his position in the history of ever) & Trey “Pancake” Smith are gonna be looking at rather hefty paydays … I’d target T then G
DLine as well, if/when it’s BPA kind of thing … in basketball they say “you can’t teach TALL” and in football “you can’t teach BIG” (think: Kinnard)
our QBotF!
haha
Mahomes is the past. the current, and the future
well, you know … Justin … Justin Case
(just in case shit happens)
we are fucked if Mahomes is injured
quote the HC on Manning in Indy
but Andy Reid!
The Jayhawks Head Coach had a heart attack
he is in better shape than Andy Reid
Andy eats healthy. lots of red meat, cheese, ketchup and mustard,.
hey now: mustard is healthy!
I just have a feeling that the Chiefs have one more big move planned. Not sure where – FA or trade???
well dang I just typed that
that could be Chris Jones new salary for this year on his new deal ๐
which would create 14 million more?
They likely needed it to pay for Omenihu and rookies from the draft. Overthecap only had KC at $6m in space before his deal and heโs likely getting around $10m this year
Chiefs may just decide to play this offseason slowly and wait for good value deals. We have a lot of draft picks so there isn’t a pressing need to go out and spend big.
once everyone spends their cap money, what’s left are gonna be bargains
The Chiefs have no money to spend unless we re-sign Chris Jones to a new deal or restructure Mahomes
which we have not done yet in 2 years
we just did!
Beginning to wonder if we are going to target a receiver with our first round draft pick.
We still have a promising young receiver or two that weren’t playing last year.
Toney, Skyy, and MVS project as the starters. While I like them all, Toney has an injury history, Skyy just started to hit his stride, and MVS was inconsistent. The Ross experiment is behind them but not much else. We need a receiver.
Ross was the one I couldn’t think of. It is impressive that we have guys that spent a few years on our practice squad going out and making several million. might make our practice squad a desirable place to be.
Justyn or John?
Justyn Ross is the real deal. I predict he will be WR1 by the end of the year
Sans injury, I like his chances. Still want to add another one.
starting to believe there are some safeties in our drafting future
A pure free safety at the very least
This yearโs draft class looks to be long on strong safeties but weak on free safeties
Yep – not many big names fill that need.
Deron Cherry … well, in his day
Beginning to wonder if we are going to target a receiver with our first round draft pick
no
that’s only marginally better than a RB in the 1st Round
Best Possible DLine or OLine and it shouldn’t even be a question
agree
Isn’t it funny how New England used to be the team that signed JUJU on a one year deal, got the most out of him, let him walk to a team who overpaid and get the comp pick and now they are ”that team” while KC is doing what the Pats always did
Was thinking the same thing – they have definitely lost their edge.
I was thinking that earlier
the Pats way is now the Chiefs way!
the “Pats Way” was always trade a player with a year left on his contract, get as much as possible before he hit FA
