Webb telescope spots a star on the brink of exploding

The James Webb Space Telescope has spotted a rare and tumultuous sight 15,000 light-years away from Earth.
The space observatory captured a scintillating image of a Wolf-Rayet star called WR 124 in the Sagittarius constellation. Wolf-Rayet stars are some of the most luminous and massive stars in the universe.
Some stars briefly become a Wolf-Rayet before they explode in a supernova, so it’s rare for astronomers to spot them.

You can see right through this little aquarium fish from Thailand: Its skin is almost completely transparent. But when the light hits it just right, its body flickers with shimmering rainbow colors.
Now, scientists have figured out how this fish — called the ghost catfish — creates its iridescent glow.

Ryan Redington on Tuesday won the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race, bringing his six dogs off the Bering Sea ice to the finish line on Nome’s main street.
Redington, 40, is the grandson of Joe Redington Sr., who helped co-found the arduous race across Alaska that was first held in 1973 and is known as the “Father of the Iditarod.”
Charles Omenihu is the latest 49er on his way out of the door. That was mostly expected, but it still will be a tough pill to swallow, knowing how well Omenihu played down the stretch. The 26-year-old was among the most dominant pass rushers in the NFL last year, as he finished the season sixth in win percentage among all edge rushers.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport tweeted that Omenihu is signing a two-year deal worth up to $20 million with the Kansas City Chiefs. If you’re an edge rusher, signing with the team that has Patrick Mahomes seems like a no-brainer.
