they just had, or were going to have, a game partly in his honor … he said he couldn’t make it but thanked them … that was a day or maybe 2 days ago that I read the article (AP News maybe?)

and I’ll add that he MAY(s) have been THE MLB GOAT … hit for average, hit for power, incredible in CF, fast on the basepath

Babe Ruth had more power, but running was not one of his strong attributes … who else? Mantle, Musial, Aaron, Brett, Gehrig, Williams

I’ll argue Mays over any of ’em (much respect to all)

see link below

Mays died two days before a game between the Giants and St. Louis Cardinals to honor the Negro Leagues at Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Alabama.

Don’t expect much from the NFL ST lawsuit

Testimony will continue Thursday, with closing statements scheduled early next week. Gutierrez said he would consider invoking a rule where the court can find that a jury does not have sufficient evidence to rule for a party in a case.

“I’m struggling with the plaintiffs’ case,” he said.

From ESPN:

Kansas lawmakers have approved a bipartisan plan that is aimed at luring both the Chiefs and Royals to the Kansas side of KC. The plan, which awaits approval from the governor, would allow the state to issue bonds that would cover up to 70% of the costs of a new stadium for both franchises.

from my view point, this is good. better they remain in kansas city that move a long way away. locals may disagree, and I understand that as well.

were they the ones that the nixon administration forced them to do a political tour in order for them to approve the visa for a Canadian band member, then people kind of blacklisted them because they were for the war?

Time was when there was no need to stop
And rearrange it.
Now I’ve got a memory
And I don’t want to change it.
