Long, but maybe useful for anyone going to the Draft: From Chiefs Lot J Tailgating Crew, Facebook Good afternoon everyone! Later this evening, I will be posting information on the NFL Draft Kickoff Event, at County Road Ice House (Kansas City’s Power & Light District), on Wednesday, April 26th. Before events start getting thrown out to everyone, I wanted to make a quick post regarding what to expect in Kansas City during the week of the NFL Draft. There are many folks coming to town that are not super familiar with Kansas City or have never been involved with being downtown during such a massive event. The city has notified local businesses that the expect number of incoming for the NFL Draft this year is 500,000-600,000 people. Essentially, this will create a similar situation to the Super Bowl Parade but will last for days (and not just one morning). -Plan Ahead! If you are coming to town, make your reservations as soon as possible. With this being said, keep in mind that ‘free events’ will still have capacity limits. During a regular Hot Country Nights (P&L), capacity is normally hit well before the show has even begun. Once capacity has been hit, they will refuse entry for the remainder of the evening and will begin to ask the remaining folks to make their way out of the area. If there is an event that you are wanting to attend and there is a table or upgrade option, I would highly recommend taking advange of that option. This is the ONLY way that you can guarantee entry to an event. -Most venues will be at capacity, or close to, for the entire week. Keep in mind that teams and media will be in the city before and after the fans, so it will pickup before most folks even arrive into town. -There will be several venues that will not be allowing walk-in business due to the high volume of reservations and private events that are being booked. There are 32 teams and media companies that are looking to buyout venues for… Read more »
Interesting. I never really thought about all the stuff that goes on in a city that is hosting events like this.
A ton of revenue up for grabs in a small window.
Hotels are basically wiped out in the area around the event as well. If you thought about going expect to stay at least 20 minutes away.
Traffic and parking will be a problem everywhere in the metro. Allow time to get to wherever you need to and be pay attention to the road. A lot of people unfamiliar with the area will also be trying to figure out some of the downtown quirky exits and there could be some accidents.
I still think I am going up Thursday night and going to Union Station Thursday and Friday, then Arrowhead on Saturday.
“He’s a BAAADDD man! … Aaron Rodgers is one of, if not the greatest, talent at the quarterback position we have EVER seen this side of Patrick Mahomes.”
God, I love being a Chiefs fan right now
ZERO LOSS! If Hardman leaves.
Hardman when drafted was supposed to be TYREEK HILL replacement. At best, he’s a number 3 or 4 WR. Jerry Jones may pay him $10m.
Hardman stats by year:
25 catches – 2022 (chiefs believed in hardman sooo much….after Hill was traded Chiefs signed MVS & Juju)59 catches – 202141 catches – 202026 catches – 2019Four years in the same Chiefs system – playing for a HOF (HC, QB, TE & top 5 offensive line)……..and Hardman still can’t run the CORRECT routes……refer to Patrick telling Hardman in playoffs……..come back to the Ball..
..
Trade CEH (tin man) get something for the FORMER 1ST round pick……..might get 5th or 6th, might.
Just can’t let it go, can you?
Feel better? Superior? What?
Hardman at 10 million>MVS at 10 million
Peoples attitude towards players based on draft position baffling. If anyone knew DK would become the stud he became he would have been drafted top 5.
I think people believe that players draft themselves.
Plus, those numbers don’t take into account that Hardman spent half the year out. Steady improvement until injured, and looked good this year
A few hours, ago, Post from THE CAPTAIN of Chiefs!!
I predict 4yrs for 95mil for Jones.
And there seems to be a lot of speculation of the Chiefs trading for 28 year old Texans LT Tunsil.
I wouldn’t give up a 1st for him because of his age and how expensive his extension will be, but a 2nd and maybe something next year would be very tempting.
There is no chance we don’t pick in the 1st rd this year. Not with the Draft in KC.
I can see that, with 70+ guaranteed
Tunsil’s extension alone shouldn’t allow his trade value be exactly where you said: a 2nd and a pick next year. His age isn’t likely a factor considering what they were willing to give Trent Williams a couple of years ago
he has also said he does not have to be the top paid at the position.
still gonna be expensive, as always it will be about the guaranteed $
I think he said he’d be happy to be the second highest paid… which I believe he is now.
i believe you are correct
Make it happen, Veach, Pay a bit more than you’d like, if you need to. CJ is the heart of the D and motivated.
