Short Order: A Brief Look at Some New Chiefs
19 repliesMeet a few of the new faces with the Kansas City Chiefs
Since we’re in the slowest part of the off-season, I looked around and found some looks at our new guys. First up is Darwin Thompson.
But why stop there, have another.
And with the next one I can get two birds with one stone with another video from this new Youtube guy doing a take on Khalen Saunders. Whether Wess is an expert or even right is beside the point. He’s enthusiastic and forthright, and doesn’t worry about his image.
Right, wrong, or otherwise, these video takes all left me feeling upbeat, and I hope they do the same for all y’all.
Cudi calling Darwin ‘Damien’ for the whole video was seriously fucking with my OCD…
Thompson’s contact balance and hurdling ability remind me of K. Hunt, but Thompson looks faster.
That second D Thompson video cracked me up. Any time I see him run now I’m going to hear “Take it to the house young fella”.
Big AG thank you for all the kind comments. With the slowest season upon us, I figured that video clips could at least be entertaining filler. I’m keeping my eyes peeled for them now, and will put them together as the tabs stack up. Got another collection in the works, this time with a bit of a theme, but the main point is that as long as folks like me doing these, I’ll keep cranking on them.
Some vids might have been seen by some and not others, and some might have been seen by most, but a ways back, and I might even luck into some fresh stuff entirely. Just keep in mind that the only thing I reliably put up on schedule’s the Afternight threads, so you’ll have to keep an eye out for them, yerownselves. But I’ll keep plugging away at ’em, and if anyone finds a clip of their own for me to include, or even ideas for things to look up, shoot me an email.
Nailed it.
Looking forward to seeing how Khalen Saunders and Derek Nnadi hold up in the middle.
Hopefully not for a lack of Jones…
Oh, I wasn’t forgetting Jones. But seeing as how you bring it up: I read the AG Round Table discussion on CJ and it wasn’t as positive as I expected. And Dan in the 810 broadcast (you go Dan!) said the numbers are far apart. So as a fan I’m learning to have flexible and realistic expectations. Yes, I think the Chiefs can win the big one with or without Jones. Having Nnadi and Saunders become reliable and maybe even better is necessary either way.
My suspicion is they were getting close to a deal, had some parameters in place, and then the Frank Clark contract happened and Jones agent came back to the table with a bigger number.
I agree with you, and relating to CJ, my line of thinking is along the lines of Hill/Hardman. Sure, Hardman will likely help pick up the slack if Hill doesn’t play, but imagine the possibilities if Hill does play and Reid can put both of those guys on the field at the same time as Watkins and Kelce. Add in a receiving RB and it could be the sort of thing that costs opposing DCs a lot of sleep.
Same thing goes for the Dline, if you have Saunders and Jones, plus Clark and take your pick. Both KS and CJ are nimble fellows who bring plenty of power to the mix, and if (Big, big If) KPass can blossom into KPass-rush in Spags’ system and it could be something that gives OCs ulcers. Granted, this is all thoroughly optimistic, blue-sky, green grass and high tides stuff, but ’tis the season to indulge in a bit of that, not so?
Yes, indulge away. And let’s not forget Speaks.
I like these two a lot. Saunders just seems to have a great spirit, and brings energy. Darwin will turn some heads I’m sure. Thanks for posting this BRAG.
Darwin, has some solid playmaker abilities. IF, strong If, he can learn to pass protect he will find a role in quick order
I love RBs that can catch and run and Darwin seems to have good hands. Thanks for sharing this, BRAG!
Lets hope so. Every offensive player that can score, should be looking for the ball and a threat anytime they touch the field. Mahomes gives us that much flexibility. Simply overwhelm the defenses with a roster full of touchdown scorers.
And considering the Sausage has even snagged a TD pass, really all you need is good hands and a primary skillset beyond it for Andy to put you to work.
Agreed. I also think the Mahomes factor on offense is going to be telling. In the past the guys were only going to be as good as the QB was, still the case today but with the MVP of the league I think these fellers are going to constantly keep improving.
Plus Saunders can back flip. He’s the biggest guy I’ve ever seen do a back flip.
Darwin seems like another toy for Andy Reid to play with. Reid will put him in position to make some plays.
This season has every chance at being a real fun one to watch and I can’t wait!
Same, these days just keep dragging by.
