Former Chiefs RG Laurent Duvernay-Tardif to make his first start with Jets | yahoo

https://sports.yahoo.com/former-chiefs-rg-laurent-duvernay-170514544.html

In an effort to shake things up at the trade deadline this year, the Kansas City Chiefs dealt away the off-field hero Laurent Duvernay-Tardif to the New York Jets. In the exchange, Kansas City got much-needed salary-cap relief and recently-waived tight end Daniel Brown. The Jets now find themselves looking to the veteran guard’s experience to fortify their offensive line.

Chiefs announce trio of roster moves on Saturday | usatoday

In a highly-anticipated move by Chiefs fans and fantasy footballers alike, Kansas City has officially activated RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire from injured reserve. The second-year halfback was placed on IR after he suffered an MCL sprain against Buffalo Bills in Week 5.

Chiefs 19, Dallas 9: ‘Super Bowl Preview’? Cowboys Hope Not | si.com

https://www.si.com/nfl/cowboys/news/super-bowl-dallas-chiefs-patrick-mahomes-dak-prescott-final

The Cowboys entered without offensive standouts Amari Cooper (COVID) and Tyron Smith (ankle), lost another offensive standout CeeDee Lamb (concussion at the end of the first half), and needed rookie Micah Parsons to do everything to pressure K.C. quarterback Patrick Mahomes, as Dallas is still waiting on defensive end standouts DeMarcus Lawrence and Randy Gregory to come off IR.

Instant analysis of Chiefs’ Week 11 win over Cowboys | usatoday

The Kansas City Chiefs will march into the bye week with four consecutive victories, saving perhaps their most impressive performance for last. The Dallas Cowboys were the league’s top-ranked offense heading into this game, and they scored at least two touchdowns in every game this season. That is until they played the Chiefs today. Kansas City held them without a touchdown in the game, something that validates all the success that the team has seen in recent weeks, especially on the defensive side of the ball.

Chiefs’ Travis Kelce owns fifth-most receiving yards by a tight end in NFL history | usatoday

Against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 11, Kelce claimed some more NFL history, moving up the all-time receiving yards leaderboard. With 74 receiving yards, Kelce has reached 8,702 receiving yards during his career.

Chiefs 19, Cowboys 9: My Top 10 Whitty Observations | si.com

https://www.si.com/nfl/cowboys/news/dallas-kansas-city-nfl-dak-prescott-patrick-mahomes

9. SACKED, STOPPED – The Cowboys entered the game having allowed only 12 sacks of Dak Prescott, but the lineup-shuffling necessitated by Tyron Smith’s injury opened the flood gates. The quarterback was sacked a season-high five times, including 3.5 by Chris Jones. Terrence Steele was slow out of his stance, Connor McGovern (replacing Connor Williams) struggled and even Zack Martin wasn’t his usual impenetrable self. Injuries + Inconsistency = The Cowboys’ first game without at least two offensive touchdowns this season and the first time without at least one since November 2020 in a 23-9 loss at Philadelphia started by the late, great Ben DiNucci.

Chris Jones, Chiefs pummel Dak Prescott to lead way to win over Cowboys | yahoo

https://sports.yahoo.com/chris-jones-chiefs-pummel-dak-004115746.html

The Chiefs opened the contest with an effective game plan and execution, the day’s first touchdown a trick play to dupe the Cowboys’ most threatening defender. Kansas City snapped the ball directly to 256-pound tight end Travis Kelce, who masterfully faked out Parsons on a handoff and then barreled 4 yards into the end zone.

The Chiefs defense fed off that momentum, the Cowboys’ offensive line inconsistencies evident as defensive end Frank Clark burst uncontested for a strip-sack that defensive tackle Chris Jones recovered. Dallas’ defense held the Chiefs to a field goal to minimize the damage, but still its offense would not muster any touchdowns. Clyde Edwards-Helaire waltzed into the end zone with Kansas City’s second touchdown, drawing a taunting penalty that demanded a longer extra-point attempt that the Chiefs still converted.

FoxSports1 – Chiefs total points scored AFTER halftime:

  • Titans 3 Loss
  • Giants 6 Win
  • Packers 0 Win
  • Raiders 24 Win
  • Cowboys 3 Win

Sure Andy R & Eric B will FIX the above!!

I LOVE, HOW ANDY/ERIC ARE doing: quick passes, slants, play action, bootlegs, draws & RUNNING THE BALL, TAKING THE CHECKDOWN — these items, are what The Wizard of Oz posted — **EVOLVE THE OFFENSE** Need more from ALL wr’s & te’s Need more from ORLANDO BROWN JR & Right Tackle???

l LOVE, HOW Spags: rotates Chris Jones inside/outside, plays Bolton, Gay & Thornhill (limits Dan & Ben snaps). Ingram is a true DE, still want to see MORE PRODUCTION of Danna & Okafor

Not sure if I like that. This team hasn’t done anything and they’re dancing on the sideline like we just won the SB? I know they’re just having fun, but like I said, they’ve done nothing yet.

I’ve noticed when our guys are standing around like they just lost their puppy, they don’t have any magic and lose a lot.

When they are bouncing around and having fun, the magic happens more often. Keep these guys fired up and we’ll go far.

This is exactly what I was hoping for, the defense turn the season around. This team has had such a prolific offense that the D was an afterthought. Not anymore. It relieves some pressure on the offense and now other teams have to deal with a solid D also. If this team can stay healthy (Fenton’s injury didn’t look good) we will be a big problem from here on out.

Sign of a great organization and a great coach is how you respond to adversity cause every team out there will have bad times. Reid never panicked. As for Mahomes, he owned what had happened, worked on what he needed to, and never strayed from who he is on the field. Compare this to the cluster that has become the Raiders and Derek Carr. Thousands of other examples out there as well.

FYI – There are just over 900 teams left in my simulation. Will be out of town for most of the day but have the entire week off so I expect that we will be set for the individual matchups sooner than later. Will take forever to compile the statistics.

Amazing what happens when CJ plays his natural spot (not DE) and we get a solid vet in Ingram who can rush and set the edge.

Gotta love how we owned the NFC this year. 5-0. Now all we need is that 6th victory against an NFC team…

One of his sacks came from playing DE I believe but agree – he can dominate at DT and needs to spend most of his time there. Ingram has made a world of difference.

Ward and Sneed are good corners for our system – Hope we can keep both. I believe that Ward will become an FA this year. IF we can only keep one, it has to be Sneed.

Brown and Wylie each got beat bad once yesterday – The line was decent but some pressure was put on Mahomes – quick passes and runs slow the rush down but we went away from that formula for awhile. Run game o-line receives an A but the pass game o-line receives a C.

Didn’t see the game but upon checking the stats I noticed Mahomes had seven rushes which led me to believe the Chiefs pass blocking wasn’t great.
Josh Gordon had twice as many targets as Gray or Bell, moving in the right direction there.

Yeah, we need to stick with the quick hitting plays. The first drive was beautiful but when we make Pat sit back and wait for stuff to develop, we end up with 3 and outs.

Need more quick-hitting plays.

Is the unseen problem who is doing the play calling? EB seemed to be making the calls this week and Andy appeared to be making the calls last week.

Okeedoke, very nice win. 7-4 heading into the bye, two weeks to heal and reset then the donkeys visit Arrowhead.

We have to pull for the Broncos next week – they face the Chargers – and we will drop out of the division lead should the Chargers win and tie our 7-4 mark. We are still in good position but wish the Steelers would have pulled out a victory last night.

Along those lines, CEH-MEH did look good yesterday – missed a few cuts but nothing too extreme. I will say that passes to our running backs sans check downs are not as prominent as they were when we had Hunt. Is that commentary on the overall belief that we have in our running back stable or purely coincidence?

The offense got the job done but I do question some of the play calling – we were running at will against them and then stopped. WHY?

Andy has never been a fan of plain running the ball. In Philly his screen passing game was basically his run game.
