NFL Power Rankings, Week 12: Patriots rise, Bills fall as pecking order changes from top to bottom | nfl.com

https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-power-rankings-week-12-2021-nfl-season

As we approach December, the league is experiencing an unusual dearth of superpowers. This absence of a true upper class has created a bloated middle class that makes each week completely unpredictable. Consider this: Week 11 brought us yet another outright win for a double-digit underdog (Texans over Titans), while the top three teams in last week’s NFL Power Rankings all suffered losses.

WATCH: A Wholesome Video of Tyrann Mathieu Handing Out Turkeys for Thanksgiving | essentiallysports

https://www.essentiallysports.com/nfl-news-kansas-city-chiefs-watch-a-wholesome-video-of-tyrann-mathieu-handing-out-turkeys-for-thanksgiving-patrick-mahomes/

Kansas City Chiefs Safety Tyrann Mathieu priorities Safety both on and off field. The KC Chiefs’ player is known to prioritise the welfare of the needy. His recent act of kindness just proved that once again.

Chiefs Reportedly Make Significant Special Teams Move | thespun

https://thespun.com/more/top-stories/chiefs-reportedly-make-significant-special-teams-move

Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, KC has signed long snapper James Winchester to a two-year contract extension. The extension is going to make him the highest-paid player at his position.

Despite Momentum, Chiefs’ Bye Week Came at a Perfect Time | SI.com

https://www.si.com/nfl/chiefs/podcasts/despite-momentum-kc-chiefs-bye-week-came-at-a-perfect-time

Coming out of the bye, Kansas City has three consecutive games against divisional opponents. Those contests are must-win games for the Chiefs, and being well-rested for them will be a major plus. They’ll also have an extra week to prepare for their first foe in that stretch: the Denver Broncos. When combining that with Andy Reid’s stellar track record the week after a bye, there’s a very solid chance his team will be looking at an 8-4 record after Week 13.

Maybe Tony is being to harsh on the Chiefs…

NFL Power Rankings: Chiefs Are Back on Top | si.com

But they have four losses—outrageous! You should stop reading right now and go do something else with your day. The funny thing about the Chiefs is that they’ve been the best team in football all year, it was just a matter of the fluky turnovers drying up, which they always do. But the fluky turnovers haven’t dried up—Sunday’s win featured a chase-down fumble and an interception that bounced off Travis Kelce’s hands—and they’re still on a four-game winning streak.

The Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos were originally supposed to square off at noon CST on Sunday, Dec. 5. The game is now being flexed to Sunday night, per Field Yates of ESPN.

Chiefs snap counts: Mecole Hardman plays fewest snaps of his career | yahoo

https://www.yahoo.com/sports/chiefs-snap-counts-mecole-hardman-161557849.html

The Kansas City Chiefs played a practically even number of snaps on offense and defense during their game against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 11. It speaks to the defense’s ability to get the ball back to the offense. It also speaks to the offense extending drives, even if they came up short at times.

Hey guys. Since it’s both bye week and Thanksgiving week, I’m not writing a poem this week. Maybe for Monday but we’ll see. Nothing Friday at the least.

I think I’m over the Jet. Mecole shows flashes but seems to drop 50% of passes that come his way. I love his speed but you can’t score if you’re not in possession of the ball. I like Pringle, but we need an upgrade at number 2. We need a more durable Sammy Watkins type of player. Nothing feels better than a smooth, yet solid number 2.

Most of our receivers sans Tyreek remind me of number two.

If Pringle can keep improving, he might be a solution. However, we seen it before where someone flashes, gets paid and then falls off a cliff.

I wonder if Gordon is better than Fountain. It was only preseason, but showed great hands.

Who knows what the coaching staff is thinking but Fountain did look good. But for me, great hands are only part of the solution. Watkins was great at working back to the QB when things broke down. We need a receiver that can catch but also gets open, especially when Pat is scrambling.

Would love to see Fountain get a chance – could not do worse than the cluster that we have.

Fountain honestly couldn’t do much worse than the guys that are already getting snaps.

Sorry this posted twice. For some reason after I originally posted this, it said that it was “needing approval” and was just hanging out in limbo all day. So I re-posted it, and then this one got approved.

FYI – I am down to the final 512 teams in my simulation. Half will be eliminated as I wrap up the bracket play and then we move to the individual matchups.

Appreciate it – I know most people here are rather meh about a simulation that they cannot see but I am having a blast. I also have close to 20,000 stats that I have to compile – time consuming but fun. Hopefully, the interest will pick up when I start to post some of the results and such.

As nice as it is to be back in first place in the West. I hope the team doesn’t lose focus. The next month will determine the West for sure. It would be nice to see the whole team come together and dominate all three phases. Hopefully, the super special Andy bye week is exactly what the Offense needs to sharpen the edges and fine-tune everything. However, I do worry that they all lose focus and fall apart again. The margins currently are so small it doesn’t take much.
