Good morning Chiefs Kingdom! Grab yourself a cup o’ Joe and get in the Huddle!

Chiefs news for November 17, 2021

Jump to Tweets | Jump to comments

Good Morning AG!!! Today in history, Aaron Brown was born in 1943, Dave Lindstrom in 1954 and Byron Pringle in 1993…

Here’s a special invitation to all you huddlers out there. It would be good to have another person or two to help with the huddle, occasionally filling in as needed, or maybe having their own day that they can do it. I’ve managed it for around 10 months so far and haven’t missed a day, but there have been some close calls with internet problems and such. Its bound to catch up with us sometime and having others familiar with how to do it can only make us better. If you think you are interested in chipping in, let us know in the comments…Thanks, Hoosier

This isn’t Chief news, but its an interesting scam that Green Bay is running…

One year after booking record profits, Packers seeking $90M in faux ‘stock offering’ to fan base| yahoo

In what continues to be one of the greatest marketing schemes in NFL history, the Green Bay Packers are set to offer 300,000 “stock shares” to fans on Tuesday morning. But as the franchise has explained the previous five times it’s created such a sale, the “stock” is essentially nothing more than a piece of team memorabilia. Or given its lack of utility, a paper version of cryptocurrency that can’t be spent anywhere.

NFL Power Rankings, Week 11: Packers new No. 1; Patriots make top-10 debut |

The NFL is known for its parity, but the 2021 season has taken this trait to an extreme.

As noted by Around The NFL colleague Gregg Rosenthal, only five teams are more than one game out in the loss column for a playoff spot as we enter Week 11. The wide-open nature of Our League™ is reflected in the NFL Power Rankings, which gets a comprehensive makeover every seven days.

Is Patrick Mahomes “back,” or did the Raiders give him a free pass? | yahoo

So, single-high hasn’t been the automatic solution we may think. To their credit, the Raiders came into this game with the desire to switch up their tendencies, which Chiefs head coach Andy Reid noticed.

“He blended it a little bit between Cover-4 and single safety middle zone,” Reid said of Bradley after the game. “Listen, that is kind of where the whole thing started. They have done a good job against us the last few years, just playing zone. He mixed it in playing heavy three and then man to man, different doubles taking place.”

5 takeaways from Chiefs HC Andy Reid’s Monday media availability | usatoday

“I think health is one thing,” Reid said. “Getting everybody on the field, that’s on part of it. Then the second part of it is the young guys maturing there quicker than you can predict. I mean, you don’t know exactly how that’s going to go. So they picked up the pace and the scheme. And then, Spags is relentless with him. I mentioned the walkthroughs last night, he’s going to make you do it until you get it right. And his coaches follow right along with that. Those would probably be the three things right there.”

‘Wrath of 1,000 suns’: Chiefs CB Rashad Fenton living up to tweet from October | fox4kc

As the Kansas City Chiefs defense continues to string together impressive performances, cornerback Rashad Fenton is standing out in the defensive backfield. Pro Football Focus ranks the third-year corner out of South Carolina as the highest rated cornerback in the NFL through 10 games. PFF’s overall grade for Fenton is 87.6, almost four points higher than No. 2 Jalen Ramsey of the Los Angeles Rams.

Chiefs’ Darrel Williams Trolls Raiders S Jonathan Abrams After Blowout Win | heavy

The post may not have been a direct shot at Abrams, and instead could have just been Williams sharing an awesome moment in his career. However, the lack of a caption other than the emojis leaves it open to interpretation. Nevertheless, it was a troll job by Williams, even if it was unintentional.

NFL Rookies: Top 15 highest-graded players through Week 10 |

Humphrey is yet another prime example of why scouting can be so difficult. The Chiefs center was passed on 62 times last April, even by his own team when they drafted Nick Bolton five picks before Humphrey heard his name called. The Packers drafted center Josh Myers the pick prior.

Chiefs RB Darrel Williams recaps his breakout performance against Raiders | usatoday

“People are always going to doubt you, people are always going to have their opinion,” he explained. “As long as you have the right mindset and have the right people in your corner, just put your head down and get the work in. Don’t ever stop grinding, because you never know, just like me, opportunities may come, you never know when they might come, and you’ve just got to make the most of it.”

WATCH: Chiefs rookie C Creed Humphrey captivates with hilarious flop | yahoo

Following a Raiders penalty, the Chiefs’ rookie had one of the best moments of the game in the second quarter of the “Sunday Night Football” matchup. Humphrey really sold the minimal contact between him and the defender, falling on his back to make sure the call went in his favor.

Check out the video of the incident, which immediately went viral on social media for its utter absurdity:

The Chiefs Are Reportedly Signing A Notable Quarterback | thespun

Considering the Chiefs still have a healthy Patrick Mahomes and backup in Chad Henne, the addition of Buechele to the active roster came as a bit of a surprise. However, the organization had a notable reason for doing so.

According to ESPN’s Field Yates, the Cardinals, who are currently dealing with injuries to quarterbacks Kyler Murray and Colt McCoy, tried to sign Buechele from the Chiefs practice squad. Wanting to hold onto the young backup, Kansas City responded by offering Buechele a deal to move up to the active roster.

Fenton has quietly been solid for us. I’m dang glad he’s a Chief.

Agreed! Can’t be easy to be a Chiefs’ fan in an area that won’t show many Chiefs’ games locally.
